Three ring-necked parakeets, photographed at my local pond, look into the light of the moon and to a brighter future for us all. This is what I hope and believe for all of us, on the eve of 2021. So sorry I wasn't around during Christmas. I am taking things slowly after being ill since Christmas Eve. I'm much, much better now and really missed you all !

What's for dinner? A question too many parents dread, not because they're afraid their kids will protest the chosen meal, but because the answer is pretty close to "nothing". Hunger is a constant companion to humanity since the dawn of times, and civilization, democracy and industrialization have done little to alleviate it. Here's hoping we can work together to fight it and one day ensure all humans can have a decent dinner on their plates.

Save the Dream participated at the "II World Nomad Games" hosted by Kyrgyzstan in the small region near by lake Issyk Kul. Young boys and girls joined to Save the Dream team and helped us to promote sport values during "II World Nomad Games". Thank you to our volunteers for a great show in Kyrgyzstan ! Young boys and girls trained by Jan Voinov , the most famous dancer in Kyrgyzstan.

But the famous Greek comedian , Lakis Lazopoulos, used to say this phrase as a student, when he was studying in Komotini - Northen Greece.
In most slums in Bangladesh, access to education is limited. For those children who do attend school, repetition and drop-out rates are a challenge. Early childhood education is important for the holistic development of a child. The holistic development includes emotional, intellectual, moral, social, physical and spiritual development. I wish that all children came to school with a smile.. had the smile all day and left the school with a smile.
It's amazing the wonders that a smile from a child does to one's soul.

My 21 year old daughter, Beccah, has Rett Syndrome.
Pepsi is giving away $1,300,000 each month to fund great ideas. One of the GREAT IDEAS is to Fund the "Research to Reality" campaign for Rett Syndrome research. You can vote for the ideas online or by sending a text from your cell phone. The top TWO ideas will be funded. The Rett Syndrome research project is in line for $250,000 ... AND I was told that there is a company that is willing to MATCH this funding if it is received. Tonight, August 31, the voting ends at midnight. Rett Syndrome has been bouncing back and forth today between position #2 and #3. It needs to finish in the #2 spot to be funded!

I'm sharing with you a photo of my family taking at Thanksgiving in 2008. This was our last Thanksgiving with my mom, who passed away in February of 2009 at the age of 90. Beccah is in front of me (on the left), my sister Jackie, my twin sister, Shayne, my mom, my son Wade, and my daughter Dayna. It's almost impossible to get a good photo of Beccah because she won't make eye contact, which includes looking at a camera.
Malaysia went through its 12th General Election today. The wind of change has blown and the opposition is wining alot of seats this time around. Hope it is for a better future for Malaysia.

Today our team visited Wings of the Ocean in Santa Cruz de Tenerife! We met their amazing team and got a chance to see Kraken- their 3-masted ship!🙏
The Kraken is used to sail in the Atlantic ocean, visiting different islands such as Madeira, Selvagens, Canaries, Azores...
With the help of their amazing volunteer crew, they wish to make an impact on the long run. They are trying to:
🔹Initiate systematic depollution, by encouraging local initiatives,
🔹Raise awareness about the impact of plastic waste at sea,
🔹Teach younger generations about plastic pollution and its consequences,
🔹Collaborate with local initiatives to have actions all year long.

Canary Green organized a beach clean-up in Callao Salvaje for World Oceans Day, and had the pleasure to be joined by the Tenerife Horse Rescue, Eco implicados, Paradise divers, but was also helped by MYND Hotel, and Ocean Beer who offered us free beers after 2 hours of acting to clean the beach. It was amazing to see that all together, was can act for a sustainable future! Thanks to everyone who came!!

Kalpana Chaudhary is 15 years old and attends grade 7. Her mom passed away when she was 9 years old so she had to take care of the household early on. She also worked in the fields with her dad and younger brother from an early age. Similarly her brother also left for Mumbai at the age of 11, and would return once a year during the Tharu New Year.
Kalpana has been living in Lawa Juni for more than 6 years now. "I am able to live decently, eat properly, study, learn computer, and enjoy the company of friends, while I am here (at Lawa Juni)."
