Ben had envisioned this moment a thousand times—the triumphant return, the adoring crowds, the king himself waiting to bestow honors upon him.

He strode into the fortress, armored in glory, the golden sunset at his back.

After years of war, he had finally returned, ready to reclaim his place and the glory that awaited him.

He took a deep breath, stepped forward—then stopped.

The guards at the gate exchanged awkward glances. One cleared his throat.

"Uh... Ben Royal, right? Yeah, so... about that. The council kinda thought you were dead, and, well... they gave your castle to your cousin Den Doyle. He turned it into a really successful bakery. ‘Den's Delicious Breads and Cakes’? It’s a whole thing now."

Ben’s eye twitched. "You mean to tell me... I fought a hundred battles, crossed endless deserts, defeated tyrants, slayed dragons and nearly died—only to come home to a ...bakery?"

The guard nodded solemnly. "The honey-glazed rolls are amazing, though. Want one?"

From across the courtyard, a bearded man holding a basket of muffins waved at him.

Ben sighed. Maybe conquering lands was overrated.

The 1961 Chrysler 300G was the final year for fins on the 300, marking the end of Virgil Exner's FlightSweep designs, but they did go out in a grand way!

Chrysler's first-generation Letter Cars hammered the competition during the 1955-'56 NASCAR seasons. The full-size fliers then went on to set speed records at Daytona in '57, prior to both the AMA ban on motorsports and NASCAR's embargo on elaborate fuel delivery systems. In spite of those two apparent setbacks, Chrysler continued to improve its top-of-the- line V-8 engine as well as the now-legendary luxury performance machine that engine came wrapped in. So, the mighty Letter Cars thundered on, in production form, at the command of well-heeled owners seeking grown-up thrills. By 1961, Chrysler had moved up the alphabet to the letter "G."

The post-'57 Letter Cars were no longer eligible for circle track racing, but the 300G was still a force to be reckoned with in street trim, thanks to performance equipment that not only sounded good—413 cubic inches, Cross-Ram, dual four-barrels—but backed it up with 375 or an optional 400 horsepower, delivering a 0-60-mph time of 8.2 seconds (Motor Life, April 1961). Though not the fastest time turned by contemporary road test periodicals, it occurred during a period when most full-size cars could barely achieve 60 mph in less than 10 or 11 seconds while simultaneously maintaining an air of luxury.

Today, the 1961 300G is among the legion of groundbreaking Mopar performance cars, respected for its stunning combination of power and styling. Its value is bolstered by low production numbers— just 1,280 hardtops and 337 convertibles were built. These cars remain in the upper stratosphere of postwar American collector cars, but prices in recent years have held steady. Is this your time to grab one of the few remaining pieces of Letter Car history? Here's what you should keep in mind when you begin to shop.

The Cross-Ram Induction system's 30-inch "Long Rams" hide the big 413 V-8 from view.

Engines

Chrysler engineers specified a 413-cu.in. wedge to go under the hood of every 300G. Introduced into the RB-Series of V-8s in 1959, the 413 had a 4.18-inch bore and a 3.75-inch stroke with a forged-steel crankshaft. Compression was advertised as 10.1:1 and the cylinder heads breathed through 2.08/1.60-inch intake/exhaust valves, while a .430-inch lift, 268-degree camshaft dictated valve action. Also included was a pair of Carter AFB four-barrel carburetors. There were, however, two versions of the 413 installed, which were differentiated by the intake manifolds.

Referred to as Ram Induction and initially appearing in 1960, the elongated aluminum intakes were designed based on much older principles involving resonance and its effect on a compression wave of, in this case, the fuel/air mixture. Though we won't go into greater depth regarding the physics here, intake tube length had a direct effect on the timing of the fuel delivery, or ramming, into each cylinder bore, maximizing engine output at certain rpm ranges.

A pair of Carter AFB four-barrel carburetors provide the fuel/air mix.

With these basics in mind, expansion of midrange output was the main target of the base 300G 413 and the engineers thus calculated 30-inch runners would be ideal. Referred to as the Long Ram intakes, they were designed to fit neatly under the hood and crisscross (hence the Cross Ram moniker) over the top of the engine, each fitted with a single four-barrel carburetor at the outboard location. In this configuration, the engine hit 375 hp at 5,000 rpm and 495 lb-ft of torque at 2,800 rpm, effectively providing passing power on demand without sacrificing full-throttle acceleration.

Optional was the high-performance Short Ram version. Though this intake system looked identical to the Long Ram at first blush, the separate internal runners measured only 15 inches in length, raising the engine's power band and enabling it to make peak horsepower at 5,200 rpm, with peak torque at 3,600 rpm. This meant that Chrysler's advertised Short Ram ratings were 400 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque.

Visually, a keen eye can spot the difference between the Long and Short Ram intakes. The Long Rams feature a visible valley between each pair of runners for the entire length; they also have a seven-digit casting number that begins with "19." Short Rams sport only a partial valley between runners; their seven-digit casting number begins with "21." Finally, Short Ram 413 engines were designed for those more interested in straight-line contests and are therefore the rarer of the two.

Transmissions

Backing either engine was the already-durable 727 TorqueFlite automatic, which was issued as standard equipment. Like other Chryslers of the day, the three-speed unit was shifted via pushbutton on the dash; it contained first and second gear ratios of 2.45:1 and 1.45:1, respectively. Replacing the French-made four-speed on the option chart was a floor-shifted three-speed manual, which is a relative rarity today. First and second gear ratios were 2.55:1 and 1.49:1; the two gears were not synchronized, making for some uncomfortable downshifts for the uninitiated. Furthermore, contemporary road tests complained of a long second-to-third gate while hinting that the better performer in transferring torque to the differential was the TorqueFlite.

Swivel front seats, upholstered in ventilated leather, were standard on the 300G.

Differential

The final transfer point for the torque from either engine was a standard 8.-inch open differential with semi-floating axles and a 3.23:1 final drive ratio, although some printed material suggests that a 3.15:1 ratio was employed when the three-speed manual was installed. While this unit was known for its durability, dealers were also able to provide a number of more highway-friendly or performance-oriented grear ratios, even if the optional Sure-Grip (positive traction) unit was installed on the assembly line.

Contemporary magazines reported an average mpg rating of 9 to 13 with a three-speed/3.23 arrangement, yet in terms of power off the line, both Motor Trend (8.3-second 0-60 mph) and Motor Life (8.2 seconds) stated that the 300G had more acceleration potential waiting to be unleashed if geared accordingly.

The center console provided some storage and housed a tachometer.

Chassis

Each 300G hardtop and convertible was derived from the New Yorker, which meant they shared the same basic unit-body/subframe platform and 126-inch wheelbase; however, the similarities were limited beyond that. For instance, though an independent front torsion bar suspension system was used, the 44 x 1.08-inch torsion bars were thicker and 40 percent stiffer than those on other Chryslers, rated for 175 lb-in. The same can be said of the rear semi-elliptic leaf-sprung suspension, rated for 135 lb-in (or 50 percent stiffer) than those on the New Yorker. For reference, the rear springs were comprised of seven leaves, measuring 60 x 2.50 inches. Power steering, with its 15.7:1 gear ratio, was also standard equipment, as were heavy-duty shocks.

In short, the chassis was engineered and better suited for high-speed highway travel and maneuverability rather than a short drive across the city. It could also handle short, quarter-mile blasts if, as discussed, geared accordingly.

Brakes

Although equipment upgrades were made in other areas, the hydraulic drum-brake system was the same as found in the New Yorker series. Drum brakes, measuring 12 x 2.50-inches, were utilized at each corner. Power assist was standard, so stopping the roughly 4,200-pound performer was easier; however, as with other drumbrake systems, each corner needed to be adjusted equally to prevent directional pull during sudden stops. Additionally, Chrysler employed two wheel cylinders per front assembly—a fact to keep in mind when seeking replacement parts.

Wheels and Tires

Unlike the previous 300F, the new 300G was bestowed with larger 15 x 6-inch pressed-steel wheels, which were then shod with 8.00-15 Goodyear Blue Streak "racing-type" tires that featured white sidewalls. According to one report, the width of the whitewall itself ranged from 3- to 3 3/16-inches. Vented "300" wheel covers completed the ensemble, and no options were available.

Body and Interior

Styling updates made to the '61 Chryslers, including the 300G, probably did more to generate higher sales than printed virtues touting the fleet's combination of power and comfort, marking the end of Virgil Exner's FlightSweep designs. The changes began with a complete revamp of the front end, where the grille was simply inverted. The top-to-bottom inward canted grille sides were harmoniously complemented by equally canted quad headlamps, running lamps, and bumper ends, while also matching the angle of the rear fins— which were also slightly redesigned. At the opposite end, the faux spare tire decklid inlay was scrapped, providing a cleaner expanse of sleek sheetmetal. Other than appropriate badging denoting the letter "G," little else appeared to change on the 219.8-inch-long body; the greenhouse and rear fenders were carry-over items, with the exception of the leading edge of the fins found on each door.

Interiors remained exquisitely plush. A full-length, front-to-rear tunneled center console divided the interior in two, creating four truly individual buckets seats wrapped in ventilated leather. Those front seats retained the swivel feature, making for easy ingress/egress, while the console was trimmed with ample amounts of chrome and padded armrests that flipped open to expose additional storage areas. The console also housed optional power window controls, ashtrays, and a tachometer.

Primary instruments resided in a dome-like, easy-to-read bubble; potential glare concerns were eliminated by means of a matching padded dash arch. The transmission's pushbutton controls resided to the left of the instrument cluster, balanced by radio, heat, and air controls to the right. Comfort and convenience options included power seats, power antenna, rear window defroster, and air conditioning.

The monastery was built to thank the Virgin Mary for the Portuguese victory over the Castilians in the battle of Aljubarrota in 1385, fulfilling a promise of King D. João I. The battle put an end to the 1383-1385 crisis.

The monastery took two centuries to build, starting in 1386 and ending circa 1517, spanning the reign of seven kings. It took the efforts of fifteen architects (Mestre das Obras da Batalha), but for seven of them the title was no more than an honorary title bestowed on them. The construction required an enormous effort, using extraordinary resources of men and material. New techniques and artistic styles, hitherto unknown in Portugal, were deployed.

Lateral view of the monastery and statue of Nuno Álvares Pereira.Work began in 1386 by the Portuguese architect Afonso Domingues who continued till 1402. He drew up the plan and many of the structures in the church and the cloister are his doing. His style was essentially Rayonnant Gothic, however there are influences from the English Perpendicular Period. There are similarities with the façade of York Minster and with the nave and transept of Canterbury Cathedral.

He was succeeded by Huguet from 1402 to 1438. This architect, who was probably from Catalonian descent, introduced the Flamboyant Gothic style. This is manifest in the main façade, the dome of the square chapter house, the Founder's Chapel, the basic structure of the Imperfect Chapels and the north and east naves of the main cloister. He raised the height of the nave to 32.46 m. By altering the proportions he made the interior of the church even seem narrower. he also completed the transept but he died before he could finish the Imperfect Chapels.

During the reign of Afonso V of Portugal, the Portuguese architect Fernão de Évora continued the construction between 1448 and 1477. He added the Cloister of Afonso V. He was succeeded by the architect Mateus Fernandes the Elder in the period 1480-1515. This master of the Manueline style worked on the portal of the Capelas Imperfeitas. Together with the famous Diogo Boitac he realized the tracery of the arcades in the Claustro Real. Work on the monastery continued into the reign of John III of Portugal with the addition of the fine Renaissance tribune (1532) by João de Castillo. The construction came to a halt, when the king decided to put all his efforts in the construction of the Jerónimos Monastery in Lisbon.

The earthquake of 1755 did some damage, but much greater damage was inflicted by the Napoleonic troops of marshall Masséna, who sacked and burned the complex in 1810 and 1811. When the Dominicans were ousted from the complex in 1834, the church and monastery were abandoned and left to fall in ruins.

In 1840 king Ferdinand II of Portugal started a restoration program of the abandoned monastery in ruins, saving this jewel of Gothic architecture. The restoration would last till the early years of the 20th century. It was declared a national monument in 1907. In 1980 the monastery was turned into a museum.

The Batalha Abbey was added in 1983 by the UNESCO to its list of World Heritage sites.

The manorial land this church stands on was bestowed on the abbey of St Peter of Jumièges in France by William the Conqueror in 1067. The abbey soon sent monks to the location to ensure the land was put to good use and the abbey received appropriate tithes.

A chapel was erected around 1140 and this eventually became the church we see today. It is a grade 1 listed building meaning it has legal protection from demolition or any major alteration without prior approval from the local authority.

I fell in love at the pond a few days ago. She came to me, over time, and let me take pictures. When I called her "Momma", in a soft loving tone, she would come, ever so slowly, towards me. It was, and is amazing.

I am changed. I fell in love with love, and with the trust and vulnerability bestowed upon me, at the pond.

Maligne Canyon, Jasper National Park, Alberta

Water runs off a mossy rock outcropping within Maligne Canyon and drops into the waters of the Maligne River.

Maligne Canyon is a slot canyon carved through limestone rock near Jasper. The Maligne River flows out of Medicine Lake for 15 km, then sputters out and drops into the narrow canyon, two meters wide at its narrowest and 50 meters deep. It's a karst thing. Think sinkholes and underground rivers.

The canyon name (French for "wicked" or "evil") was bestowed by a priest who really wanted to get to the other side of that narrow trench and figured he was being foiled by the Devil.

Blue hour in Venice , Canale Grande.

I had been in Venice end of September 2020 and enjoyed an almost empty Venice. The so-called "La Serenissima" was a Byzantine title, bestowed upon the Doge and the Signoria at first, then extended to the entire Republic of Venice.

White fallow stag basking in the Autumn evening sunlight at Charlecote Park. The backlight produced a halo reminiscent of a mythical beast or guardian Patronus from the Harry Potter novels.

Fallow deer are unusual in occuring in many different colour varieties, attributed to selective breeding in deer parks before becoming feral in the UK. Fallow of the white variety are not albinos but have normal eye pigmentation, although their hooves and noses might be somewhat paler than other varieties. White coats in any deer are usually a result of leucism, an under-production of melanin, the chemical responsible for skin pigmentation (over-production results in darker than normal coats).

In Celtic mythology white deer are considered to be messengers from the otherworld and would appear on transgressing a taboo, such as trespassing into sacred hunting grounds. The colour white has long been associated with purity and in Celtic culture the colour also represented the otherworld.

Arthurian legend states that the white stag has a perennial ability to evade capture, and pursuit of the animal represents mankind's spiritual quest. Hunters of old pursued the miraculous stag, not because they expected to kill it, but because it led them in the joy of the chase to new and fresh adventures, and so to capture happiness. In the Arthurian romance of Erec and Enide the story begins with Arthur and his knights riding out for a customary hunt of the white stag for the Easter feast. According to tradition, whoever succeeded in hunting the white stag would be able to bestow a kiss on any noblewoman at court.

Common Terns are swift in the air, turning and swooping, which makes them very difficult to track. But they hover. Birds that hover are a blessing bestowed upon aging photographers! I was able to lock the focus, and even anticipate their sudden, nearly vertical dive to try to snatch a small fish from the shallows. This particular tern was having some success, and repeatedly came back to the same general area, paying no attention to the dude sitting on the shore with his camera. In less than an hour I came away with nearly 400 shots. Here's a taste; more to follow when I find some time to catch up on processing.

The daughter of the ranking of the Royal Guard of her homeland, the Ranger General.

Luna recently arrested a young Drow, Vey, caught seemingly red-handed in committing a serious crime. However while held captive, she got to know the drow and believed her to be innocent or unbefit of the punishment bestowed on her. Being guided by what's right above all else, she convinced the Ranger General to let the drow free; But at a cost. Luna would be responsible for the drow from now on, bound to her by the elder's powerful elven magic, carving out the drow's memories and a fragment of her soul, tying it to Luna herself. Now she functions as a Keeper for the Drow, balancing the elder power of domination through the prisoner's soul, while set on a path to help the Drow get accustomed to the top-world while herself tasked by the elders to learn about responsibility and duty.

Beneath the sky, he treads alone,

With weary steps, a heart of stone.

A burdened soul, the world bestowed,

He bears the weight, a heavy load.

His spirit soars, unbowed, unbound.

And in his trials, the truth is shown,

A man's true burden is his own.

Orchid Haven at Gardens by the Bay overwhelms the senses with its outpouring of colors and cascading orchids. Visiting the displays drives home the beauty and variety nature has bestowed upon us to enjoy.

The Rainbow Faerie has slid down to earth on her magical rainbow, and wherever she walks, she bestows her an array of colours upon the animals and flowers. All she needs to do is raise her multicoloured wand, and the roses will be a more dazzling red, canaries more vibrantly yellow and the grass more brilliantly green.

The theme for “Looking Close… on Friday” for the 23rd of July is “multicolour”. As soon as I read the theme, I thought of my Playmobil Rainbow Faerie who has a multicoloured gown and a multicoloured wand. I have set her up alone against the backdrop of her rainbow as I felt that she was enough to represent the theme this week. Thus, I came up with this scene, which I hope will make you smile.

Playmobil is a line of toys produced by the Brandstätter Group, headquartered in Zirndorf, Germany. Production began in 1974. Playmobil began to be sold worldwide in 1975, and by 2009, approximately 2.2 billion Playmobil figures had been sold. The signature Playmobil toy is a 7.5 cm tall human figure with a particular smiling face. A wide range of accessories, buildings and vehicles, as well as many sorts of animals, are also part of the Playmobil line. Playmobil toys are produced in themed series of sets as well as individual special figures and playsets. New products and product lines developed by a 50-strong development team are introduced frequently, and older sets are discontinued. Promotional and one-off products are sometimes produced in very limited quantities. These practices have helped give rise to a sizeable community of collectors.

Bangladesh is bestowed with an ample amount of places to explore. From beautiful natural sites to historical places, the country has much to offer for a pleasing and learning experience.

Among the eye-catching places, the most remote and least populated Bandarban is a popular destination for its adventurous, distinctive and scenic landscape. The beauty of its forests, numerous waterfalls, tallest peaks and lifestyles of 15 different ethnic groups attract tourists from both home and abroad. One must visit Bandarban at least once!

"A ghost, a thought, a shadow in the mind

Your soul, it's lost, the silhouette of life

Show yourself a vision for the blind

You leave the darkness now, let the shadows fall behind

We were born to dream of heaven in between

But we're walking towards the slaughter footsteps right behind the sheep

You better run, you're the maker of your doom

Yeah, that voice inside the shadow is the architect of truth

And you know it, bow below it, dare to own it

Bestowed upon the virtue of your soul, but you sold it anyway

In the ashes of the city, I am lost and I am missing

Only darkness can forgive me!

You know the sun don't shine in the shadows

In the shadows

But you can find the light in the shadows

Nothing good comes easily

Chaos can start so peacefully

Recently it's been eating me

What does this darkness see in me?

We fight and die so needlessly

I'm looking for some decency

For good and bad both equally

Dark and light can shine evenly

Heartless as the army of darkness marches (Heartless as the army of darkness marches)

I'ma make it out of the dark regardless (I'ma make it out of the dark regardless)

It's too late to be saved

As I go down in flames

I'd rather burn out than fade away

Affectionately known as Twentytwo, this building is a commercial giant that adds an aura of modernity to London’s heart. Its completion in 2020 has bestowed the City of London’s financial district with an awe-inspiring emblem that reaches a soaring 278 meters into the sky, extending across 62 floors. This architectural masterpiece captivates the eye with its distinctive form, tapering gracefully as it ascends. The essence of 22 Bishopsgate is further enriched by its amenities, including a remarkable viewing gallery perched on the 58th floor, an inviting restaurant, and a well-appointed fitness center.

Owned by the Duchy of Cornwall since 1337, Trematon Castle is a miniature Norman motte-and-bailey castle and gatehouse, situated on the river Lynher.

Sitting on top of an ancient pagan site which settlers once saw as the gateway between Cornwall and England, the Castle was built in 1068 by Robert, Count of Mortain to strengthen the hold of William the Conqueror following his triumph in the Battle of Hastings.

In 1337, the Castle was bestowed on Edward the Black Prince (a former Prince of Wales), for whom the Grade I-listed gatehouse was built and who, legend has it, only stayed there once. Then, two hundred years later, Elizabeth I ordered Sir Francis Drake to stash looted treasure – a hoard of gold, silver and emeralds pirated from Spanish ships while voyaging the Pacific Ocean, to be stored in Trematon Castle before it was later shipped to the Tower of London.

The Castle then fell into neglect and ruin for centuries until, in 1807, the Duchy granted a 100-year lease to naval man Benjamin Tucker, alongside permission to construct a house within the castle courtyard. Yet more change came when part of the medieval castle wall was demolished to create a view from the house down to Plymouth Sound – and then again in 1812, when an ornate swimming pool was carved out in the lower reaches of the garden to commemorate a visit by the Prince Regent, who was later crowned George IV.

In 1961 the Duchy of Cornwall advertised the Castle to be let. It subsequently became the home in Cornwall of Hugh Foot, Lord Caradon. Queen Elizabeth II visited the Castle on 25 July 1962 before driving to Fowey to board the royal yacht Britannia

In 2012, garden designers Julian and Isabel Bannerman moved in and began to plant a garden which was intended to play to the romantic elements of the Castle’s history. The gardens were open to visitors in the spring and summer until 2018. The lease was then taken over by interior designers Frieda Gormely and husband Javvy M Royle who founded the House of Hackney, in 2011. Originally based in east London they became famous for riotous Victorian-tinged wallpapers and fabrics. The house is now open as an exclusive B&B.

Of a kind,

we're all one

of such a statement so benign

we become

another one

to process in progress

we strive

to repress a heart

must never belay

what beats inside

to one given-

of the outside

we all bestow

the art of living

Simple words, but these are for my great friend Andrew.

Carrying the remains of her grizzly trophy, bestowed upon her by mom, this spring brown bear cub heads for drier land where she will do her best to consume her prize. She’ll have to deal with her anxious sibling who will snarl and growl while trying to steal at least a portion of her trophy. So many of the complex interactions of humans are well rooted in nature, for we all have our trophies. How we interact with others along the way defines us and distinguished us from other species on this little blue marble we call home.

A green mask worn by an Atsara (clown) symbolizes a figure who exists between worlds: not a monk, not a deity, and not a demon. He is a ritual trickster who can cross boundaries and break rules.

The white scarf symbolizes purity, auspiciousness, and safe passage through obstacles. When an Atsara touches a spectator with the scarf, it is believed to bestow blessings and good fortune. As a result, people make offerings.

I was touched by the scarf, so—just in case—I made an offering myself (-:

Look you might think that Tessa is wending her way through the fog to the Royal Opera House in vain. That outfit and she expects to be admitted?!

Be calmed, Loyal and Adoring Fans. Tessa is actually singing tonight, the part of Violetta in La Traviata of course, a part for which she is eminently qualified in real life (see this stream passim)

We haven't actually worked out which royals bestowed their blessing on this house* (we're tending to rule out at the moment the royal houses of Japan, Thailand, Brunei and Lesotho) But it's grand and we recommend a visit, if only to hear Tessa yodelling.

The Upper Middle Rhine Valley, here the Rheingau, is a

UNESCO World Heritage Site, as is the Eberbach Monastery shown here ...

Eberbach Abbey is a former Cistercian monastery in Eltville in the Rheingau, Germany. On account of its Romanesque and early Gothic buildings it is considered one of the most significant architectural world heritage sites in Hesse.

In the winter of 1985/86 some of the interior scenes of The Name of the Rose were filmed here. The abbey is a main venue of the annual Rheingau Musik Festival.

The first monastic house at the site was founded in 1116 by Archbishop Adalbert of Mainz, as a house of Augustinian canons. It was then bestowed by him in 1131 upon the Benedictines.

This foundation failed to establish itself, and the successor, Kloster Eberbach, was founded in 1136 by Bernard of Clairvaux as the first Cistercian monastery on the east bank of the Rhine.

This tranquil scene from the wetlands captures a solitary Canada Goose gliding across the reflective waters, surrounded by the golden hues of the fading vegetation. The soft ripples around the bird tell of its gentle passage, creating a harmonious balance with the stillness of the environment. The rich, autumnal colors of the reeds and grasses provide a beautiful contrast to the goose's iconic black and white markings. The image is a snapshot of life in the wetlands, showcasing the quiet majesty of a creature in its natural setting, undisturbed and in tune with the rhythm of the wild. The Canada Goose, a symbol of wildlife's grace and adaptability, stands out as the focal point in this testament to the serene moments that nature bestows.

Second of 3 images that are a new approach to Pano-Sabotage in my work. Here, like #1, I took the same image and placed one on fullscreen, then stretched or "blew up" the second one further "up" than the original in order to create patterns from the usual Pano-Sabotage markers in the interaction.

Like the Cubists did, I stripped away the usual colour and went for a much more muted and "dirty" palette in order to emphasize the forms and lines and not have colour be a distraction from them. Georges Braque and then Picasso were concerned with the integration of space with form. They believed, influenced powerfully by Cézanne and the writings of Henri Poincaré regarding the 4th dimension, that forms should be viewed from all angles and that 4th dimensional images could be projected onto a 2-dimensinal plane - hence Analytic Cubism.

From this came the idea to title these images "End Game" as it's a concern of mine that the current way that we relate to the world is destroying ourselves and the planet.

The Ultimate Beak!

The Lappet-faced Vulture or Nubian vulture (Torgos tracheliotos) is an Old World vulture belonging to the bird order Accipitriformes.

Getting the first crack at tearing into wildebeest flesh, is an honour usually bestowed upon the senior or perhaps showiest member of the dining party. On the savannahs of eastern Africa, it is the king of carrion.

The large, thick beak of the lappet-faced vulture is strong enough to tear open the thick hides of dead animals such as rhinoceros, elephant and hippo. They pave the way for other vultures and scavenging birds to attack the innards and clean the land of decaying carcasses. That they are an endangered species, often the unwitting and unintended victims of poisoned bait, is a travesty that could have far-reaching effects both up and down the foodchain.

Photographed on a late evening game drive in Nairobi National Park, Kenya.

I'd like to have a go at this wth a wider angle lens, think of this as a practice shot! Notice the spots where the sensor needs cleaning too
