Der Guallatiri ist einer der aktivsten Vulkane in den Anden und liegt im Norden Chiles, nur wenig von der bolivianischen Grenze entfernt, 155 km östlich von Arica im Nationalpark Lauca. Er überrragt 6.071 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel und ist damit der zweithöchste aktive Vulkan weltweit. Er wird auch der "Rauchende" genannt !
