Lovers of sports cars, in possession of a motorcycle license and a limited budget, were the target group of the T60. The slim three-wheeler not only offered a sporty design, but also a low weight and a relatively sporty drive, giving the vehicle a top speed of 100 km/h.
In their road test of October 1959, The Motor Cycle magazine described the car as "a fascinating, front-wheel-drive sports car which combine economy with liveliness and superb cornering".

The SA322 was Berkeleys first production sports car, announced in September 1956, and produced from the October. In late 1956 Stirling Moss drove one at Goodwood and the car was launched at the 1956 Earls Court Motor Show (i was there), one year ahead of the Lotus Elite, which was also of fibre glass monocoque construction.
The two seater tourer consisted of three large mouldings with no conventional chassis. Equipment was minimal with even the fuel gauge listed as an optional extra.
The car was powered by a twin cylinder British Anzani two stroke engine of 322cc and 15bhp mounted transverseley driving the front wheels via a chain mated to a three speed gearbox.

Aerial view of downtown Berkeley, my home for the past 32 years. The southerly wind made it possible for me to take this photo while flying my kite from the high school playing field. I've annotated the image with some of the city's prominent landmarks.
Taken by a camera lofted by a kite.

The clocktower at UC Berkeley that towers over the landscape. I've never been up it. Apparently, on a clear day, it gives you an amazing 360 degree view of the San Francisco Bay Area. Sketched the week before classes begin. Bye, bye summer.
