Mather Point, on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, is the location where most people get their first view of the Canyon. It is a view that is both breathtaking and humbling, as visitors try to grasp the vastness and beauty of the landscape . . . Dramatic skies and ever shifting patterns of color, shadow, and light make the experience even more impressive.

Thanks for all your comments and faves, much appreciated as

This artwork was inspired by Tiffany windows, which I just love. In person, they are almost beyond belief! I used an old photo of mine, of a tree in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, overlayed with a tree bark texture, and this texture:

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. . . The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. . . But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life." Revelation 21: 3, 23, 27

Visions come and go, but this one I captured. Here it is.

Of the many beautiful sights we saw in Ireland, none was more inspiring than the view from Binvenagh. Also, I don't think I've ever breathed fresher air. The statue represents Manannán mac Lir, a sea god from Irish mythology.

On looker being devoured by the work of art of Andreas Paraskeva to become part of it in the third dimension.

...."In another instance, the artist (Andreas Paraskeva) brings his workshop to the exhibition space. He links this installation with the painted work that refers to the events of 1974. The coup d'etat and the invation overturn the plans of a family of four. Marked by the tragic trouth, everyday people are placed in an environment full of contradictions, both accessible and tragic."...

From the group exhibition by Andreas Paraskeva, Evros A. Evriviades, Mikella Psara and Maria Tourou at the Larnaca Municipal Art Gallery on Europe Square. They are all established artists who live and work in the town and district of Larnaca, Cyprus.

The exhibition will remain open for quite a while longer and I strongly recomment it to local friends and visitors.

Behold...Big Spring Creek Falls!! Part of the Lewis River watershed, this 49-foot three-tiered waterfall plunges gracefully yet powerfully alongside NF-23. If you are on your way to Randle, Mount Saint Helens or Trout Lake, be sure to look out for this hidden gem.

The clouds were just awesome last night. I was completely exhausted by the time I'd taken this, so it's going up tonight instead.

Forecast this day was clear but lo and behold it was not. Luckily had my gear with me on this offroading trip.

Also Eddielluisma.com is up. It has some new content and a couple of re-edits. Please give it a look, thanks in advance!

One of the best displays I've seen yet...to put this in perspective, it was shot at 11mm and no cropping was done on this final image. When I got out of the truck the pillars were above my head...had to snap myself back to reality and get the camera set up.

"A beholder is an observer: someone who gains awareness of things through the senses, especially sight. If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then the person who is observing gets to decide what is beautiful." vocabulary.com

Close to 20 years I've lived there and this one I still didn't figure out. When the people of Cologne call their town the "most beautiful city on Earth" - are they trying to be ironic? It doesn't look like they are, in most cases anyway.

Sometimes when I ask this, somebody comes along and says, they might mean it in a metaphorical way. The nicest people or something like that. As if that wouldn't raise the exact same question.

Behold the majestic Red Gates of Morocco, a mesmerizing fusion of history and vibrant hues, beckoning travelers with their timeless charm and unveiling the secrets of an ancient city through its crimson facade.

BEHOLD the dread Mt. Shasta, where it stands

Aspiring to the eagle's cloudless height,

No human foot has stained its snowy side;

No human breath has dimmed the icy mirror which

It holds unto the moon and stars and sov'reign sun.

We may not grow familiar with the secrets

Of its hoary top, whereon the Genius

Of that mountain builds his glorious throne!

Far lifted in the boundless blue, he doth

Encircle, with his gaze supreme, the broad

Dominions of the West, which lie beneath

His feet,. in pictures of sublime repose

"People often say that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder,' and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder. This empowers us to find beauty in places where others have not dared to look, including inside ourselves."
