Zoo visitors, these Turkey Vultures have found a comfortable spot in the Polar Bear area. Ironic that "wild" free birds find homes in zoos, while zoo animals have been removed from their homes and confined in the zoo.

Located in Chicago's Millennium Park, Cloud Gate, aka "The Bean," is a public sculpture by artist Anish Kapoor that has become one of the city's most photographed attractions since its completion in 2006. Measuring 33 by 66 by 42 feet and weighing about 100 tons, the sculpture was constructed using 168 stainless steel plates that are welded together, with a highly polished reflective surface that has no visible seams. This view looks west toward Michigan Avenue on a warm summer evening near sundown in 2019.

I haven't had any entry for the past few weeks to the Macro Monday's theme. For this week's theme - "Eye of the Beholder", I've decided to go with oil and water macro. This is a photo of a "mixture" of used cooking oil and water on a clear pyrex container. On the background is my phone with a photo of a colorful bokeh. HMM!

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside! Especially wearing this cute old baby doll dress from Addams and the wonderful new flyaway hair from Argrace – it gets awfully breezy on the coast!

...on a wonderful late winter morning. Can't be beaten!....After a walk up a valley of waterfalls, we emerged on a ridge to a wonderful vista

Isaiah 24:1: “Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.”

Swinging paragliding at Voss, Norway on a sunny, dry and not windy day... what a view..

The sun is in the utmost effulgence but the surface turned toward it must be a mirror; the clearer and purer it is, the more light shall be reflected therein."

A perfect end to the day!

In spite of all that seems wrong with the world around us and the direction it's headed, there's so much to be thankful for. Thankful for family and friends, for warmth and laughter, for science and curiosity, for sunsets and that little silhouette, for light and shadows and this beautiful planet. ... Happy thanksgiving everyone!
