The beginning of a beautiful day on a Viking cruise on the Danube. Spent the day in a small town in Bulgaria learning about local customs from a wonderful couple in their home.

Still in the archives ... another 15 cm's of snow yesterday. I must stop procrastinating and haul the snowblower out and do the driveway. :)

 

There's a hint of colour in this image of the very beginning of the sunset at Keefer Lake. As is often the case, there were clouds on the horizon and the colour of the sunset never appeared - but I thoroughly enjoyed it anyway.

It is finely the beginning of waterfall season here in Minnesota which is always a very exciting time to me. I am reminded of how Christ makes everything new and breathes life into our dead lungs. For all things are made for Him and through Him which is stated in Colossians chapter 1. I am thankful for springtime and for warmer temperatures that are on the way. Have a blessed week everybody!

Stunning sunrise - Alberta Canada.

 

My camera has been in its case and I, for the most part, in a chair - just waiting for spring. The bears in Alberta and I definitely in hibernation mode this winter.

A difficult month with record breaking temperatures e.g. -35c -

I'm sure most of you will have noticed by now that I'm shooting different subjects/styles. I love LE seascape work and the peace and tranquility that comes with being near water, but I'm feeling the urge to rebel and try my hand at other subjects (hence my deliberate move to explore other avenues of photographic expression). The tilt-shift/focus work I've been trying lately is really starting to resonate with me and I'm curious where this path will take me.

New Beginning - I hadn't photographed Bald Eagles at all in 2022, so it was a nice surprise to see this one cruising by the hills while I was photographing waterbirds. I've always wanted to capture a photo of a Bald Eagle against the green/chaparral hillside, so it was nice to check that off during a gap in the rains.

This particular male's mate has gone missing. I hope he is able to find a female and nest successfully in the near future.

It seemed at first like they were dead, lying on their back and not moving. But with a nudge, they suddenly come to life, start moving their legs and even defiantly raise up their minuscule claws, ready to meet any challenger!

 

When they are fully grown, it takes two hands to carry them.

How cool it was to be together with friends shooting at locations personally never seen before. Well, honestly this spot here in the image is very iconic and so many times showed in so many different social media platforms. But I never was here at his area and therefore, despite all the images around the world from this place, I present this one here! It’s my humble image and my own vision from this place. The weather forecast predicted a lot of rain for this day and so it was! We were standing in front of this magical tree and the morning was only gray but with some breaks in the clouds to let pass a bit of light and converting the atmosphere into a magical drama. I decided to make a long exposure for this rainy and gray spot. I combined a polarizer with an ND-Filter (normally I never do that as I think more than one glass on the top of the lens is decreasing the quality of the image, but this is only my opinion). And this here is the result as you can see and I hope you like it.
