It's my second set of tries; i thought a lot about it- it is yet so far from perfect, ...but I am really happy! Amazing how such little things can make us happy!

Taken last year when me and the missus took a trip to Mono Lake... Comps were pretty limited, but we witnessed one of the better sunrises in a long long time..
Settling in Oregon has proved to be a little harder than we thought it would. All the expenses and uncertainties, etc etc.. But all's good for the time being, and I hope things will work out for us over here.
Well, it'll be my first photo outing later in the day. Hitting the coast. Let's hope for good light!
Have a great weekend y'all!

These wonderful trees are planted along the edge of Roath Recreation Ground in Cardiff, which is also where I catch a bus into the city. I love to watch the changing of the seasons as reflected by the changes in the vegetation.

A working, new launch and a broken-abandoned launch side by side; I got the view. It got a theme, stage of beginning to end of everything.

Every day holds new beginnings.. new starts.
Wow. This feels weird typing. After so many months of thinking of joining Flickr, i finally did. It feels like a new beginning, and i'm definitely excited! :)
This photo is taken with my Canon Ae-1, the day after we got home from Italy this summer. My dslr camera broke during the trip, which made me incredible sad! :( I still haven't gotten it back from Nikon, but i hope with all my heart, that it will be here soon.

This is just a filler until my spring break trip, where I'll be covering 6 states in 11 days. Stay tuned!
The first whispers of spring—cherry blossom buds swelling with the promise of color. In just a few days, these delicate petals will unfold, marking the start of a new season.

i know they say its all about the journey, not the destination, but tonight, my journey wasn't so great.
let me just start out by saying its about 100 degrees where i live, and you pretty much walk outside and start sweating... not that that really bothered me all that much, but eventually it got to be a bit of a problem...
so, when i to where i planned on going, (a place i had been before, and wanted to return to) i remembered that i had to climb through some plants and through a little fence to get there. I looked for the easiest way through the plants towards the fence, but i ended up in a giant tangle of a plant with the worst thorns i've ever experienced... it took a while to get untangled, and when i got to the fence i realized i had a LOT of cuts on my legs and they were bleeding... fabulous.
I wiggled through the fence, set up my tripod and start taking pictures...
My original idea did not work at all so i went with a simpler idea and started packing up my stuff when all of a sudden i hear some guy from his house yell "HEY! This is private property!"
I didn't mean any harm and i wasn't doing any damage whatsoever, but my heart still started pounding when he started walking towards me, i tried to tell him that i was just taking pictures and that i was leaving, but he asked me where i came from and as i walked away he continued to tell me how this was private property and "that's why that fence is there"... i hurried out towards the fence and on my way out i got caught in the same plant and in my rush i ended up with even more cuts...
i'm not sure how long that guy followed me but i hope i never see him again... I'm sad that he was so angry because this really is a beautiful location :/
by the time i got home i was drenched in sweat and bleeding quite a bit...
i'm not in love with this, i tried some expansion but the more i look at it the more obvious my mistakes become.... oh well.
until next week...

Paige has literally been my friend longer than anybody else on this planet. We grew up as next door neighbors, we went to pre-school through high school together, and now as two creative nineteen year olds we are collaborating in ways I never thought possible. She is going places with her creativity and skill, and I feel honored to be such good friends with her after all of these years!
A new year, a fresh sketchbook! I chose a colorful flower as the opening page.
I signed up for Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge, this painting represents Day 1. I figured, I paint everyday anyway, I might as well support her challenge and join in the fun!

Birmingham New Street signal box was an important part of my life.
I had been a signalman for just over ten years when I transferred there from Saltley and regarded it as the apex of my signalling career, the next rung up the ladder would be supervisory and I did not enjoy being responsible for other people's actions!
So I stayed at New Street from January 1981, transferring to Rest Day Relief in 1985/6, to escape night shifts after my son was born.
By 1993 many managers and supervisors were accepting generous early retirement packages and my thoughts turned to joining them.....although I knew that I would need to return later.....
