Beetroots turned crispy alias baked beetroot chips! A fun and fat free winter treat using local plants!

Recipe is on the blog: www.aspoonfulofphotography.blogspot.de/2014/02/baked-beet...

A posse of beets shot using a Tachihara 5x4 field camera and some very expired Polaroid 125i instant film.

I've been eating more kangaroo, and hence more beetroot (they go very well together). This is some bootroot for the roasting pan, with plenty of pepper, salt, and EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil).

Het is dus zaak ze ergens te bewaren waar de zon nooit schijnt (;

Mash coocked beetroot with a little pure alcohol. Pass through a dishcloth.Paint on watercolorpaper and dry. When dry paint again and again.

Print a positive (very much contrast!) on a transparant.

Press the transparant on the prepared paper under glass. Place two or three weeks in daylight.

Exposure is done when the light parts are (almost) white.

The picture is ready. Like a watercolor, it will bleach in direct bright light.

In a shadowed place (a corridor maybe) it lasts many years.

Greetings fellow Flickrites! I am cutting short my hibernation (It's winter over here in Melb) and uploading a picture of a brunch I had with a friend just a day ago.

Fandango is so interesting as a cafe and has a sweetass courtyard that I will rave about when I next write in my food blog.

I love how the contrast of colours makes this dish so appetising. Can't wait to go back and have myself a coffee too! Ugh. Pity the broke student.

Taken with a 550D (my friend's) with standard lens.

A quick dinner tonight of home made minted coleslaw, smoked black pepper mackerel and beetroot. The coleslaw made with shredded Chinese leaf and carrot with a mayonnaise, crème fraîche and mint sauce

Last of my pathetic crop this year. A couple of beetroots that looked so sad I let Bosie eat them.
