.....because I have no Internet. Back again tomorrow.

The Dragonflies are back in our garden again, they don’t appear to be settling like they usually do, but that could be because I keep pointing a camera in their faces, ooops haha!!

Just a simple candid street style Snapograph captured at London UK of someone dressed up as Darth Vader.

I've deliberately gone for a higher contrast presentation to this snap because I feel it's better suited to this type of photography and I'm trying to create a more journalistic approach to my street style snaps.

"THANK YOU KINDLY" to anyone who finds this shot good enough to leave a "Comment", I'll do my very best to reply to you individually.

Because when I came here, the sky was still bright. I drank beer to take this shot and killed time.

Take me now, baby, here as I am

Hold me close, try and understand

Desire is hunger is the fire I breathe

Love is a banquet on which we feed

Come on now, try and understand

The way I feel under your command

Take my hand, as the sun descends

They can't hurt you now

Can't hurt you now

Can't hurt you now

Looking back through archives I came across this shot. Back then I never took the time to post to groups and I think this one deserves better coverage. Shot at an old beach chalet I owned on The Blake Sea, this was one of the first pics I took of my good pal Enaery. Thank you for your friendship, Ena, and for putting up with me ever since. You're a pleasure to work with, and you always make getting the money shot so easy x

Disclaimer: No pigeon got soap in it's eyes. Or anywhere else. I filled the birdbath with sunflower seeds :-) The soap came later.

I call this beautiful, fluffy squirrel Blondie. :) She hopped up on my window ledge one day, so I was able to get this nice close-up of her. The reflection in her eye and the bushes in the background look a little threatening to me, which seems to fit the overall feeling of growing uncertainty in the world. Maybe I’m projecting. ;) Anyway, watching this squirrel and the other animals and birds in my yard is something that I’m very grateful for.

P.S. I gave Blondie some peanuts in the shell as a way to say thank you for sitting still for a second or two for me. ^^

P.P.S. This morning, I came across a new release by the Scottish band Cloth. “Pink Silence”. If you like it, be sure to listen to the song “Polaroid” as well. It was one of my favourite songs from 2024.

Maybe because it was a weekday, or maybe just luck, but I had the place to myself. Still, silent and empty, a lovely few hours. It seems this is, or will be, a major tourist attraction, the circular platform is for viewers to look down and see a reflection of the stars. To the left of the photo there's another circle, new stainless steel seats to recline and look up.

because our property backs onto a park, we have a lot of wildlife that wanders into our yard or burrows under our fence.

This shot is a first for me ( full manual mode at dusk). I normally shoot in aperture priority and lately thought about trying to shoot in full manual like many pro wildlife photographers recommend.

So tonight, about 30 minutes before sunset I went out into our yard and found this rabbit. I started at 800 iso, then 1600 iso and finished with 3200 iso.

So, for something completely different, because sometimes you just have to share a pic you like that isn't like all your other shots. And a throwback to my HDR fascination days.

This is a stroll down memory lane to the magnificent town of Chester in the UK. Did you know that Chester was one of the last cities in England to fall to the Normans? The city walls are the best preserved in the UK, with only a 100-metre section missing. It's a truly amazing place to spend a day!

I loved wandering around the entire walls, just wish I was into photography back then!

Bonus fun fact - the Eastgate clock in Chester is the second most photographed clock in England. No bonus points for guessing number #1, but if you do need a clue, it's not little Ben ;)

When I design something, I usually send it to Jamie to get feedback and to make sure that I haven't made any glaring mistakes. In this case his response was simply "It's true." to which I responded "Have we met? Hi, I'm Bridget, and I do not require schooling on nerds."

Boulders Beach is a sheltered beach made up of inlets between granite boulders, from which the name originated. It is located on the Cape Peninsula, in Simon's Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is also commonly known as Boulders Bay. It is a popular tourist spot because of a colony of African penguins which settled there in 1982. Boulders Beach forms part of the Table Mountain National Park.

These African penguins are only found on the coastlines of Southern Africa (South Africa and Namibia). These penguins are currently endangered. As a result, the penguins are under the protection of the Cape Nature Conservation.

Although set in a residential area, it is one of the few sites where this vulnerable bird (Spheniscus demersus) can be observed at close range, wandering freely in a protected natural environment. From just two breeding pairs in 1982, the penguin colony has grown to about 3000 birds in recent years. This is partly due to the prohibition of commercial pelagic trawling in False Bay, which has increased the supply of sardines and anchovies, which form part of the penguins' diet. as well as the help from former SANDF naval officer, Van the Penguin Man

Bordered mainly by indigenous bush above the high-water mark on the one side, and the clear water of False Bay on the other, the area comprises several small sheltered bays, partially enclosed by granite boulders that are 540 million years old.

The most popular recreational spot is Boulders Beach, but the penguins are best viewed from Foxy Beach, where newly constructed boardwalks take visitors to within a few metres of the birds. It is also a famous swimming beach, although people are restricted to beaches adjacent to the penguin colony.

I was happy to see that the wild pheasants at the park have chicks again. It's not easy to take photos of them because the mother rushes them somewhere into the undergrowth as soon as someone approaches them. I hope to see them again but the park is huge and you never really know where they are.
