Because there is definitely something not looking right, and I can't put my finger on it yet !!!
A visit to The Midland Air Museum, which is just based outside Coventry and where there is a unique aeronautical collection of old military aircraft's. And it was rather cool to get inside and sit down in a Pilot's cockpit seat of an old military helicopter; I was amazed just how tight it was to get inside this cockpit and then amused with all the control panels in front of it me.
Just a bit of creative fun, with my fisheye lens here!

Die Wasseramsel ist wegen ihrer guten Tarnung nicht leicht zu finden, aber sie ist ortsgebunden und deshalb immer wieder an den selben Stellen zu sehen.
The dipper is not easy to find because of its good camouflage, but it is tied to a specific location and can therefore be seen over and over again in the same places.

Because of the government shutdown in early October 2013, we could not visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park. So unfortunately remained just the view from a distance (from the Great Sand Dunes Lodge) with a telephoto lens.
Wegen des Government shutdown Anfang Oktober 2013 konnten wir den Great Sand Dunes National Park nicht besuchen. So blieb leider nur der Blick aus der Ferne (von der Great Sand Dunes Lodge aus) mit dem Teleobjektiv.
These birds are annoying. You cannot get close to them. If you do, it's only by accident, because you did not know the bird was in the tree you approached until it leaves at 150 mph, cackling at you all the way. VERY annoying...

Because of the shady state of national and international aimlessness I am trapped in my home office most of the time since month. Recently, I had a free run for a week and at one afternoon I had the time for photographing too. Precisely this day was wet and dull all the time. Still I did enjoy the time very much and I brought a few photos home as well. This is one of the them. The famous castle Neuschwanstein below deep hanging rain clouds.
Auf Grund der fragwürdigen Lage nationaler und internationaler Planlosigkeit, bin ich seit Monaten die meisste Zeit in meinem Homeoffice gefangen. Kürzlich hatte ich mal wieder eine Woche Auslauf und an einem Nachmittag auch die Zeit zum Fotografieren. Genau dieser Tag war durchgehend nass und trüb. Trotzdem habe ich die Zeit sehr genossen und auch ein paar wenige Fotos mitgebracht, wie dieses hier vom berühmten Schloß Neuschwanstein unter tief hängenden Regenwolken.

Sempervivum tectorum, the common houseleek, is a species of flowering plant in the family Crassulaceae, native to the mountains of southern Europe, cultivated in the whole of Europe for its appearance and a Roman tradition claiming that it protects buildings against lightning strikes.
The name Sempervivum has its origin in the Latin semper ('always') and vivus ('living'), because this perennial plant keeps its leaves in winter and is very resistant to difficult conditions of growth.
The specific epithet tectorum means 'of house roofs', referring to a traditional location for these plants.
The hairs that fringe the leaves can be seen on close inspection.
Because I'd just climbed over it. I was having a really weird and unpleasant day health-wise and hadn't intended to take a photograph at all, but saw this and nipped over the fence on the track to a farm building and snapped it with my phone. Then I painted it, of course ! Things are a bit better now, so here we are !

Protea is both the botanical name and the English common name of a genus of South African flowering plants, sometimes also called sugarbushes or fynbos. The family is Proteaceae. In local tradition, the protea flower represents change and hope. The extraordinary richness and diversity of species characteristic of the Cape flora are thought to be caused in part by the diverse landscape, where populations can become isolated from each other and in time develop into separate species. The main vectors responsible for the transfer of pollen in protea cultivation are birds, insects, and wind. Some Protea species exhibit both self-pollination and cross-pollination as a method of reproduction. Cross-pollination is preferred, though, as a method of reproduction because it provides genetic diversity in the population. When cultivating proteas, breeders use hand pollination as a controlled method to transfer pollen from one flower to another. Proteas usually flower during spring. The general structure of their flower heads consists of a mass of flowers on a woody receptacle.
