The beast from the east closing in on the Lincolnshire Wolds. The weather certainly created some dramatic light and weather.
More to come in a few days, apparently??

A MAV M62 still with its original Koloma engine smokes it up as it accelerates out of Borgond, Hungary with the semaphore giving a high clear. This was such a fantastic place during the diversion and I was incredibly dumb not to come back again. Hindsight is 20/20 or other such lies you can tell yourself...
we were once a big bowling family and had many used balls scattered around the garden... some have cracked over the years, but this one remains, it's a beast!

Little Black Riding hood~
I wanna hide the truth
I wanna shelter you
But with the beast inside
There's nowhere we can hide
No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come
This is my kingdom come
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
Don't get too close
It's dark inside
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
These furry, magnificent beasts are the apex predators of the Arctic, being perfectly adapted to its icy landscape and ocean. And yet, in our time they are more under threat of overheating than freezing. We all know the story! This Monday gone, February 27th, was International Polar Bear Day. Like the Inuit and other Arctic people, we need to keep them in the forefront of our mind, and hope that in the future, we too will be part of their story.
Hoping for a better future us all!

The Magical Beast.
Photography moves me like no other, capturing an image requires very little on my behalf, the only requirement is for me to 'be there'.
It's a mix of life experience and emotion (feelings)

This lovely "beast" appeared over a thunderstorm in Rhodes isl., Greece, on Nov. 13, 2023. More than 30 events were observed during the evening of Nov. 13, 2023 over #thunderstorms at E-SE. Aegean Sea and W. Turkey.
TLEs (like red sprites) are upper atmospheric electrical discharges and they appear, under specific circumstances, above thunderstorms (e.g. red sprites appear at altitudes of 40-90 km).
I've used a #Sigma 85 mm lens at f/1.4, for 1/25'' with 40 k iso.
Check our recent #paper about TLEs from Greek-based observers, here: doi.org/10.3390/environsciproc2023026009.

I don't usually process so harshly but there was something so strange and beast like about this outcrop that I wanted some suitably odd processing.
It seemed to me like a giant petrified lizard or dinosaur like creature. Only when processing did I then also notice the footprints in the sand and the strong line of blue from the sea.
Be brave... View On Black
Bangkok, as seen from the rooftop Vertigo Bar of the Banyan Tree Hotel. Due to the traffic (of course, we are in Bangkok) we missed the sunset but the views were fabulous anyway. Sipping cocktails hundreds of metres above the city was just the perfect ending for our Bangkok trip.

The most beautiful Lamborghini I've ever seen. Two weeks ago the Superleggera was still my favorite lambo, but that changed just yesterday. What an amazing car and colour!

A Texas leafcutter ant (Atta texana) carries a leaf down the trunk of a yaupon holly (Ilex vomitoria). Leafcutters are fascinating components of our fauna that use the leaves they harvest to cultivate a fungus that will feed the colony. I had a blast photographing these guys last weekend. Caro spotted a line of ants working this yaupon in a setting that allowed for some creative lighting and composition.
Oh a
sueño
En soledad
En un agradable
Pantano en medio-
Sueños despiertos
de nada
adorable
Como un pollo graso
Caído de
Su escondite
En mi piscina
De calor
barro
-- Miguel de O
[Oh, to
slumber
in solitude
in a pleasant
swamp in half-
awake dreams
of nothing
so lovely
as a fat chicken
fallen from
its roost
into my pool
of warm
mud]
