The recently renumbered and renamed Jubilee Class 4-6-0 45562 "Alberta" passes Waitby Common as it battles towards Aisgill in a strong sou'westerly with the southbound rerouted Cumbrian Mountain Express of March 14th 2020.
A small scene that I have designed with the Eldorado fortress 6276, the Barracuda ship 6285, and the Caribbean Clipper 6274. A very iconic sets from the classic pirates theme.
I have used Photoshop for the effects.

My Bignette (16x16) entry for Global Challenge XV - The Battle for Fyrdraca and a bit of a silly entry in the CBC V Beasts of Battle category.
In the bottom scene, an infamous Loreesi used camel merchant attempts to sell Captain Alphonso de Rojas some 'Battle Ostriches' Alphonso naturally scoffs at the idea.... meanwhile, on Fyrdraca, some Garhims prove the concept not so silly...!

I walked around quietly to see if there was any candy around.
Soft music hums in the square, it smells like Santa Claus who will soon descend from the sky.
Santa's animals were there, in the snow near the path.
When suddenly,
PAF!
Eh? It's what? where did this come from?
I turn around, and there I see a big white ball which is throwing other white balls at me.
The big white ball had a carrot, I saw it! but I didn't manage to get it.
Anyway, I defended myself, but instead of the carrot in my mouth I had something cold and melting, it was strange but funny.
I'll keep that in mind and I'll come back to get that carrot!

Witnessed an incredible battle between two Red-winged Blackbirds today. They fought each other at a half dozen times. Finally one gave up and flew off but I'm surprised they made it through the fighting. It was very vicious!

The Battle of Brunanburh, which was fought sometime in 937 between the Kingdom of England and the combined might of the Kingdoms of Scotland, Strathclyde and Dublin, is the most important British battle you’ve probably never heard of. So fierce was the fighting that according to the Anglo-Saxon Chronical “Never, before this, were more men in this island slain…”. King Æthelstan of England would emerge the victor, setting the course for the political and cultural development Britain, and in particular that of England, which would see its unity preserved and its identity realised.
There is noting on earth like the cry of a red-tailed hawk. Here he is warning off a Peregrine at the Sacramento NWR

On this day in 1943 German & Soviet forces engaged in the Battle of Prokhorovka, one of the largest armoured engagements of all time. Despite heavy losses, the Soviets repelled their attackers. It was a turning point in the Battle of Kursk, leading to an overall Soviet victory.
Ok, so it may not be the biggest and grandest of Christmas trees, but it was slightly strange to see it in a fresh fish shop :)

this was a real battle against the elements kind of photo... the wind was blowing strongly, clouds kept bringing in an odd shower or two, the spray from the waves was covering my lens... the microfibre towels went into overdrive... the umbrella was nearly torn by the wind and finding the right moment to capture the shot i wanted required tonnes of patience...
