Port Orford, Oregon, on my bicycle tour of the Pacific Coast Route.

Canadian National local train No. 513 passes a mountain lake at Henry House, Alberta, at 8:29 p.m. on July 11, 2014. The Hinton to Jasper (and return) local is powered by vintage pair of aging GMD’s—SD40-2W No. 5246 and SD40u No. 6011 —battle-worn, but still hauling plenty of tonnage on CN’s main line through scenic Jasper National Park.

A shed by the ocean. A little battered by the elements and time but still standing! I know it doesn't look pretty to most but I think it has beauty in it own 'life well lived' kind of way.

Hope you are all living well and having a great Wednesday!

The Battleship Building in Paddington, a bit of a challenge to shoot this given the close proximity of the A40 Westway flyover so thought it best to include it as feature so to speak!

Last week we had some nice low fog in the fields near my house. I shoot this early one morning as the sun was coming up. Hope you all had a great weekend. We have had company here for a couple weeks now and hopefully things will return to a more normal schedule soon!! If you look really hard in the distance you can see Mount Hood.

Cheers

I've battled demons that won't let me sleep. Called to the sea but she abandoned me. I won't let you get me down. I'll keep gettin' up when I hit the ground. Oh, never give up, no, never give up no, no,

No, I won't ever give up.

My fate is for me to decide demons be damned. You can't keep me down, I will get back up and come back stronger.

Battle Royal, also Battle Royale, normally refers to a fight involving many combatants and there are only two here. Ah well, at least they're both Royal Terns.

Taken in Florida.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving any comments or faves, they are very much appreciated.

Some young bucks tussling and butting heads. They were so busy they didn't notice me sneaking up on them. Love hunting with digital bullets.

Thanks for your visit. Always appreciated!

Within the old Lodgings building this wall spoke to me - the different colours, shapes, the chips and marks on each stone, and within a wall that's over 500 years old.

It is that time of the year when the Honeyeaters and Wattlebirds are vying for nesting locations in our garden. This one was watching the battle for one particular spot from the line that brings the power into our house.

I don't know why my Exif details are not showing they should be in the settings

Once a feckless fairy decided to eat the meat of a dead mouse. This unknown delicacy proved addictive and soon fairies were carving up all manner of flesh to find the finest meats. But the best-tasting meat of all was the meat of the fairy. They became wicked things. And the Meat Fairy was born....

(Fairy Meat is apparently an actual wargame game by Kenzer & Company. I don't play it but the idea sounded interesting)

Shot at Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal. Territorial battle between Golden Eagle and Wooly Necked Stork.

When I went to the place, I heard loud bird calls from Coromonts on a tree. I realised a huge Golden Eagle was sitting on the tree. I thought it was there to hunt. So I waited some time for it to catch a meal and maybe I will get a shot. Turns out there was a stork that was stalking the eagle as it jumped from branch to branch.

It was Storks area and eagle was trying to take over. I waited for few hours as eagle took its time to make a move. It happens in bursts and neither of the two are in hurry to attack as it can be fatal.

Unfortunately action when started happened at some distance and so none of the shots in sequence turned out to be sharp.

So I thought it would be a candidate for my worst shot of the year Flickr group.

Every loaded train from the pit at Sandaoling faces an uphill battle against grades greater than 2%. The JS-class locomotives in charge of this task are rated at around 2000hp and were built between 1981 and 1987, needless to say the battle is quite real.

As a kid, I was fascinated by movies such as The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973/4) and the brilliant special effects work of Ray Harryhausen. I looked up at the sky and remembered this scene.

A battle over the small woodland near my home in Cheshire which is a prime nesting site. The mature female on the right ousted the young rival in double quick time.

Thank you for having a look at my photos. Comments or faves are very welcome and appreciated.

After a monumental screw up that could have been easily prevented a week earlier, another opportunity presented itself on the shot. After waiting in town for three and a half hours, a short Y102 returns back north with only a couple cars through Holly, MI past the very charming Battle Alley.
