Come on, Robin, to the Bat Cave! There's not a moment to lose! (Adam West as Batman)
This was another one I took last week for Macro Monday
The letters on the side say "House of Kohler" but it has a Batman insignia on the back. The people in a house on one of my walking routes have had one of these small camper trailers every year. This year they had 3 small beauties.
The pollinators keep on coming, even to the flowers that are passed their best! This one (Batman hoverfly) is on a spent Gaillardia. HBBBT
What looks like a fire in the corner behind Batman is a reflection from a canister set that is 1950's anodized aluminum made to look like copper. The color is reflected in his eye, as well--but I have no idea why...
This is the action shot of Batman that should have accompanied the more demure shot of him resting atop the stars.
It's Flyday again, hope it's a good day and weekend for you all! HFDF ;0) Watched this (Myathropa florea) Batman hoverfly grooming itself for sometime! It looked pretty dapper to me before never mind after!
More London Riverside, London
There isn't a decent Batman movie title to go with my reflective shot so no point trying!
Doesn't happens often that I witnessed a Cinnabar moth (Tyria jacobaeae) spreading his wings under the early morning sun. Usually I find them hanging quite low in the grass with their wings closed like a hiding batman.
With the harsh back light it was quite challenging getting the exposure right so I used a fill flash to extract some extra detail.
A marvel of engineering for its time, the John Batman Bridge was completed in 1968.
"It was the first cable-stayed bridge in Australia and among the first such bridges in the world. The main span is 206 metres (676 ft) long, suspended from a 91-metre-high (299 ft) steel A-frame tower. The deck is 10.3 metres (34 ft) wide. The tower is on the west bank of the Tamar river, on a solid dolerite rock base which carries 78% of the weight of the main span. The length of the bridge is 432 metres (1,417 ft) between abutments. The east bank is soft clay not capable of supporting a bridge. A causeway carries the highway across this softer base, supported by four piers built on piles driven up to 18 metres (59 ft) into the clay. The bridge deck is constructed of steel."
Batman: Ahem... I'm B..
Sindy: Why hello there little fella', aren't you the cutest thing in a pair of boots!
Batman: I'm Batman.
Sindy: Aww, a little bat man. I see the widdle ears. Do come in.
Batman: Hmpf! They warned me about this place. I should have listened and stayed in the cave.
Sindy: Nonsense! I'm Sindy. Are you here to stay, I can't help but notice your knapsack? Have a seat dearie and I'll make you a cuppa.
Batman: (Thinking) "At least they serve drinks. Better blend in with the locals." - Thanks.

I have a Batman!!
He's a MEGO action figure, released in the 1970s, but was based on the appearance of the 1966 TV version of the character. (Thanks Dave and Dal for the info)
This is one of the larger types of hoverfly. Syrphus...particular variety undetermined. It may be the one known at the Batman Hoverfly because of the 'mask' showing on its back.
From a previous summer
...the search to find Rudolph and...
save Christmas....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was just too fun to pass up...Batman vacationing at the Alpine Lodge and finding out that....
Rudolph's Nose had Gone Dark...and the reindeer has disappeared just days before he is needed!
John, thanks, I did think of that when I ordered this Reindeer from The BrickDude. The nose is black and not red....
thus....
another facet of the story can ensue!!!!
I love movies of super heroes and the last Batman's trilogy by Christopher Nolan are my favorite! <3
