I've taken pictures of these ladies before, and like last time it was pure chance as I stumbled upon them.

They are Batala DC, an all-woman Brazilian-style drum band.

They are REALLY good, and very entertaining. Plus they make for a great photo subject.

They were rehearsing this past Saturday in Farragut Square, and I was lucky to have my Olympus E-P2 with me.

A Banda Batalá de Brasília é uma banda de percussão formada só por mulheres que conta atualmente com cerca de 140 integrantes. Surdos, dobras, repiques e caixas dão forma ao som da banda, parte do cenário musical da cidade desde 2003.
