PERSONAL FUN FACT: I can't say that this is necessarily my favorite line of Bratzillaz, however it definitely stands out compared to the other sets. What makes these dolls unique are their painted eyes and standard articulation. At first, these features were a turn off for me, as I had grown to love the inset "glassy" eyed look of the standard Zillaz doll. But upon closer inspection, I realized that these painted gals showcased some of that classic Bratz "magic" that the Bratzillaz usually were void of (not that they weren't equally charming, but they didn't seem as "bratty"). This is why I was initially not going to purchase the "Basic" dolls. I didn't want to buy them just because they were Bratzillaz, and the line was discontinued. But as I began to appreciate their painted features, I started to ponder whether or not I should snag any of the dollies when the opportunity presented itself to me. I was hoping to find the alternate version of this Jade J'Adore doll. But oddly she wasn't anywhere to be found, even when I looked online she was a bit harder to locate. One afternoon at Kmart, I was perusing the large clearance section when I pulled out two "Basic" Bratzillaz dolls' boxes. I found the 2nd wave Meygana and Jade, the only two dolls from this line that had alternate versions. This Jade reminds me of a combination of traditional J'Adore style and Sashabella (because of the furry skirt). I thought that since the pair was super inexpensive, that it was the perfect occasion to buy myself some "Basic" dolls to see how much I liked them. I must say that these simpler bodies are way easier to manage. I actually wish all the Bratzillaz used them. The dolls sit and stand with ease. The regular Zillaz tend to hunch awkwardly because of their articulated waists, and in many cases, their knees buckle. Meygana was easy to adjust to, but Jade took a little more time what with her red eyes. But these days I love to admire her on display. I'd still be over the moon to find the other variation of "Basic" Jade, but I'm grateful to have one representation of each character nonetheless. In hindsight, this version is actually the more unique, as she has two toned red and white hair. The other gal has solid white tresses, like most Jade dolls!
