I've made a habit of photographing the statue of General Gordon in Gordon Gardens, Gravesend: this is its base, a series of concrete circles supporting the column that the statue stands on. Below the concrete circles a further circle of bricks or setts; the little out of focus flecks of green are grass/moss growing between these stones.
I was wandering around the park, hoping to take advantage of the very bright but low sun, hence this. Shot with my Tokina 200mm lens.

Taken for 'Saturday Self Challenge': "PBWA, Potography By Wandering About".
Saw this heron on the look out for fish on my daily wander, this is the river Loddon at Basing Fen.
The woods really look too dense for such a big bird to fly through, I got one shot and s/he flew off through the trees, I guess this is the same heron I've seen fishing at a couple of nearby ponds, Eastrop and Black Dam.

Buachaille Etive Mor towering over the small hut at it's base. This wasn't really the weather I was hoping for when I visited Glencoe but I had to make do with what was on offer as it was just a flying visit. This was only one of several shots where there was any cloud in the sky at all, not great for the shots I had in mind (which I didn't bother climbing the mountain opposite for) so I hung around at ground level to see what I could get.

This group of photos were taken on a private visit to Fab Falconry with Bognor Regis Camera Club on a sunny afternoon/evening & were made most welcome to a very enjoyable time.
Even though we're in no rush to get to sleep, we're now ready. Actually, it's time to cook dinner and drink wine. Then catch the sunset. Then hot chocolate and play crib. Then...it will finally be bedtime.

Loosely based on Chinese guardian lions or 'foo dogs' as some call them. This MOC was a fun exercise in using Lego cloth elements as a flexible skin around an inner frame. The result is a very cohesive look with some fun patterns that would be very hard to achieve otherwise.
The MOC has several points of articulation that allow it to take a natural sitting pose. One rotation in the torso behind the shoulders, hollow thighs for the back legs to fold up, and a rotation at the base of the tail.
The detail I'm most proud of however is the plant sprue pieces used for the lips. This is my last MOC for 2022, I hope you all like it!

Standing near the base of the old scout camp you can see part of the East Peak Mountain top. this is not the highest point of the East Peak, but its close to 13,000 ft. It's about a 2-1/2 mile hike from where we are. We are in the Spanish Peak wilderness area. This a compressed view from my 200mm lens its further than it looks to the top.
