Basing Wood - Basingstoke, Hampshire
This is a shot I took whilst down south visiting my family during the Christmas holidays. We were fortunate to have a couple of misty, foggy days and it's great to be shooting woodland in these conditions. This is Basing Wood in Basingstoke and I used to love playing army as a child in this wood along with wild camping. Such a lovely place on my parents door step.

To reach Everest Base Camp after eight days of a vigorous trek is an amazing feeling. To see the shimmering Khumbu icefall, the iconic yellow tents of EBC completely ensconced in a Colosseum of huge peaks & hustle & bustle on the approach is a magical moment alright. I laughed & choked at seeing the yellow tents; yes at the same time! :D

With the end of the 2020 RHTT season in sight wagons and MPVs have started to return to their off-season bases.
An example is todays move - 3Z06 from Mossend to Wigan Springs Branch - which was formed of MPV twin set 98910 and 98960. The pairing is seen passing Cartland shortly after starting their journey.
NOTE: Scottish Government travel guidance was adhered to during this outing. I traveled alone in a private vehicle and remained within my council area (South Lanarkshire).
The spread wings of the Crested Caracara provide a subframe for the second Caracara at the top of a cell tower they have frequented over the past week or so. Before they move on, I will take as many pictures as possible. By the way, I’m not really sure if this counts as “subframing.”

Treasures of Greenwich Maritime Museum
It began life as a school for the children of Seafarers in 1807. It was also the home to a naval-based art gallery but it wasn’t until 1927 when a public appeal was launched to bring the dream into reality.
Created in 1934 under the National Maritime Act and completed in 1937. It was officially opened by King George VI on the 27th April.
Greenwich has had many associations with the sea. From Roman settlement, the Royal Navy has strong ties with Greenwich, to the setting up of the Royal Observatory in 1675. It has associations with navigational instruments and astronomical study. Importantly Greenwich was been the site of GMT and Prime Meridian since 1884.
It’s fitting that they should build this magnificent Museum here, celebrating Britain’s history at sea. It has more than 2m items stored there. There are Paintings, scientific instruments, maps, manuscripts and ship’s models, not to mention a huge amount of other items.
Sir James Caird, a notable shipbuilder was the major donor, he lived from 1864-1954 and it is estimated that he donated £1.5m to the Museum. Each year the Museum presents a medal named after its main benefactor, this practice started in 1984. Two recipients Sir David Attenborough and Robert ‘Bob’ Ballard adorn the list of notable people awarded the medal. In 1937 a statue to Caird was sculpted by the very talented William Reid Dick and is situated in the Rotunda. Sir Edwin Lutyens designed statue and plinth.
A major renovation of the Galleries took place in 1999. It centred round the Neptune Court and was designed by Rick Mather Architects.
It is a great museum to visit, so much to see.
Concreted
Saturday morning and me and my Father in law concreted the base for our greenhouse.
We mixed the concrete ourselves. It took 1.5 tonnes of limestone chippings, (just over) .5 tonne of building sand, and 9.5 bags of cement.
Though the perspective doesn’t look like it on this photo, the base is 8’6” x 8’6”, for the 8’ x 8’ greenhouse.
(The greenhouse arrived on Friday! The delivery time was 10 days, but it came in 4 days.
My weather app at lunchtime yesterday said that we could expect rain at 7.00pm. So it wouldn’t need covering …
At 1.30pm I set off to the football. Once I got inside Turf Moor it started raining… then barely stopped until nighttime. I wasn’t a happy man.
Fortunately, due to its sheltered position the rain hasn’t affected it.
I’ll erect the greenhouse in 7-10 days, once the concrete has fully hardened.

"This installation is composed of hundreds of white scarves, based on khatas, the traditional Tibetan Buddhist welcoming scarves. The cotton scarves are silk screened with different blessings written by Rainbow Soulclub members and hand dyed. These blessings are for the exhibition visitors : If you walk underneath the khatas you may receive their blessings. At the end of the exhibition, a number of scarves will be given away to the public and passers-by."

Looking towards Silbury Hill from Avebury.
Composed mainly of chalk and clay excavated from the surrounding area, the mound stands 40 metres (130 ft) high and covers about 5 acres (2 ha). It is a display of immense technical skill and prolonged control over labour and resources. Archaeologists calculate that Silbury Hill was built about 4750 years ago and that it took 18 million man-hours, or 500 men working for 15 years (Atkinson 1974:128) to deposit and shape 248,000 cubic metres (324,000 cu yd) of earth and fill on top of a natural hill
The base of the hill is circular and 167 metres (548 ft) in diameter. The summit is flat-topped and 30 metres (98 ft) in diameter.
This would have been the base of a cooling tower that was never built for a nuclear power plant that was abandoned midway through construction.
J'ai modifié le code couleur et modifié les différents modules pour y ajouter une grand panel trans clear.
J'ai modifié les éclairages aussi afin qu'ils puissent être actionnés derrière les rochers à l'arrière du MOC
