Siya ay isinilang sa Binondo, Manila. Ang kanyang mga magulang ay purong Chinese galing sa Mainland China. Gaya ng maraming Chinese, siya ay maagang natuto sa negosyo.
Ang kanyang tindahan ang naging lihim na umpukan ng mga katipunero laban sa mga Kastila. Nagbibigay din siya ng tulong pinansyal at mga pagkain sa mga rebolusyonaryong Pilipino hanggang matapos ang pananakop ng mga Kastila.
Nagpatuloy ang kanyang pagtulong sa himagsikan sa panahon naman ng Amerikano. Dahil dito, siya ay 13 buwang nabilanggo. Hindi nagbago ang kanyang paninindigan laban sa mga Amerikano kahit matapos lumaya. Hindi niya ipinagbibili ang kanyang kalakal sa mga Amerikano.
3 taon matapos siyang pumanaw, ipinangalan sa kanya ang isang kalye sa Binondo at isang monumento na makikita sa Plaza de Binondo bilang pagkilala sa kanyang kabayanihan at pagiging isang Makabayang Pilipino.

You can always get a bad metering in this case not to mention the spotlight is constantly moving. :) But I like the intricate details of the dress to stand-out as well as the beauty of the models so I try my best.
