After heavy rain, access to this spot in the Blue Mountains is pretty much impossible. On this particular morning, the normal steady flow was almost reduced to a trickle.

I was so happy we finally found a Great Gray Owl but I was not too sure how these photos were going to turn.... It was close to 10:00 PM and I had to crank up the ISO to 10,000 to get a barely decent shutter speed.... Well, I like it and I particularly like the blue light rendition in the distance.... Hope you all have a great weekend! My understanding is that it is a light phase one as opposed to the darker phase one I posted previously.
Brokenstation - Harz
# taken in January 2025 from Clausthal Zellerfeld with a Z6 at 200mm / f5,6 / 1/125s / iso100
The story behind it is that during a winter walk with my daughter and our dog through the snow on the northern slope of Clausthal Zellerfeld, my daughter saw the Brocken buildings shining through the clouds in the evening light (approx. 14 km away). It was barely visible and you could only see the buildings with the 200mm lens in 100% view. Since it is a manual lens on the Z6, I had to adjust the focus by hand....

At the end of 2012 the Dutch Army sold several vehicles to Jordan. These vehicles where stabled at the former NAVO depot in Almelo. The whole week DB Schenker and the army were loading these vehicles onto trains for their transfer to Jordan via the Eemshaven. This also happened on the 19th of October 2012, when I received a text message that it was happening. After school I jumped on the bike and biked towards Almelo. During this ride there was barely sun, however when I arrived the train was already waiting in the sun on the shunting tracks on the Almelo Bedrijvenpark. Therefore a picture was quickly made before the locomotive would run around the train. The picture shows the yellow DB Schenker 6469 together with two sets of wagons loaded with around 74 YPR-765/806 (AIFV) vehicles which were waiting on their final drive through the Netherlands.

NEED A FAVOR ~ JELLYROLL
I only talk to God, when I need a favor
And I only pray, when I ain't got a prayer
So, who the hell am I?
Who the hell am I, to expect a savior?
Oh-oh-ohh
If I only talk to God, when I need a favor?
But God, I need a favor
Amen, amen
Amen, amen
Hangin' in there, just barely
Throwin' up prayers, like Hail Mary's
If You're still there, Lord spare me
Oh my God, oh my God, Hail Mary
Sometimes I feel like I just blend into the background!
"We're so quick to go to make things black and white,
and to put things in their box.
But everything is this mixture
- and that's what this world is
- is this blend of different things."

We have a hatch in our local eagle nest, with one of the adults seen here feeding one of its young, its gray barely visible behind the sticks of the nest. I will be checking often now as the eaglets grow and the nest becomes much busier.
Deseret Power Railroad is a very neat operation. Despite the train being loaded, there is barely a sound of the locos except for the occasional air compressor and flange squeal. May 9, 2019

Colour re-edit of a previously published black and white image captured in April 2015. One of my favourites from that year - enjoy!
