The two Raccoons that attacked my feeder last Thursday returned again for a daylight burglary next day. This marauder has actually struck this pose to re-think its approach after this one failed. They paused after a couple of failed attempts and then one climbed up the tree holding the feeder and soon the feeder was on the ground.
It was great fun seeing them involved in their hijinks again.
Bandit est un Jack Russel malheureusement il nous à quitté aujourd'hui après 16 ans de fidèlité et d'amour !

When Yuki gets groomed they add a scarf around her neck to come home with. We were just fooling around a bit. She plays the part of a bandit quite well.

A young raccoon peers out from a fence post where he tried to hide. The masked bandit was not only surrounded by frost but had icy droplets on its fur. Nature provides them with that beautiful pelt and the trappers of the early mid-west found wealth in those furs.
Bandit and I would like to wish all our Flickr friends a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Another shot of a cedar waxwing contemplating a grab at a berry. As my friend Karen R-TB (http://www.flickr.com/photos/22292497@N05/4051514973/) kindly pointed out in my last posting, this is not a mountain ash as I had originally thought. I was informed by a worker at the rose garden that it is a crabapple tree. I just like the light in this one and the look at the the red "waxy" looking markings on the wings, for which these birds are named.
Our family cat, Bandit. We got him during the pandemic and he has been ruling our house ever since.

We used to get our share of Bandit's in the Upper Peninsula but they generally were road units or 1200 series SW's. I don't ever recall one of the ex MILW MP15's visiting up here. If you wanted to see them you needed to visit the Twin Cities, Milwaukee, Bensenville or KC environs. Here's 1500 and 1561 hustling along at St. Paul on April 12, 1990 while a westbound BN Sealand stacker passes by on the opposite track.
Bandit is a resident eagle who lives on the James River near Richmond, Virginia. She was born at the Birmingham Zoo in 2005 and subsequently released.
She made her way to the James River and once she was discovered in 2009, she was named "Bandit" after the band on her right leg. She's a beauty and a favorite of local residents.

Interesting to note how high ISO's with the Z50 body can be managed with a little TLC

Beneath the Milwaukee skyline, Soo Line train 199 curves toward the North 25th Street overpass on a sunny Wisconsin afternoon of September 12, 1987. The train of matched blue UELX covered hoppers is powered by two former Milwaukee Road EMD SD40-2s, with lead motor No. 6365 all dressed up in classic (not) Soo Line “bandit” black patch colors.
