Smile on Saturday - Balancing Act

As you have seen for yourselves....flying dragons love to balance upon high so as to rest and dry off those most precious wings.

My what dynamic wings they are.

Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.

Have a safe and courageous day dear Flickr friends !

With such long legs and an uncooperative tree limb, it takes a balancing act to find the perfect perch to rest upon.

While Bronson was out hunting this morning, Brenda arrived with a mouse that I believe she caught on her own as I didn't see any transfer from Dad and he arrived shortly afterward with a mouse for one of the others.

Thank you all for your wonderful words, awards, and the group invites. I truly appreciate all of them ♥ :)

I thought the Cormorant looked like it was balancing on his wing tips in this shot.

“She righted herself, her balance returning. Had she really thought the world didn't change? She was a fool. The world was made of miracles, unexpected earthquakes, storms that came from nowhere and might reshape a continent. The boy beside her. The future before her. Anything was possible.”

― Leigh Bardugo, Crooked Kingdom

For this week's Macro Monday theme of "Balance" ... here the molecular bonds within water our working hard to 'balance' off against the force of gravity clinging together and clinging to this Christmas Light ... a balance in the night.

Happy Macro Monday

Piled up for Smile on Saturday theme, Balancing Act.

HSoS 😊

It's not the weight of things that matters, it's all about balance within.

For 'Smile on Saturday'. Theme: Balancing Act.

A blessed and peaceful advent season to all dear Flickr friends, and a well-balanced and HMM.

Purple Gallinule grips the stem of an alligator flag with its long toes for balance and uses its wing power to rise higher to reach the flowers attached to another alligator flag plant for a morning meal.

This is one of my favorite water birds their feet grabbed my interest long ago and the beautifully multi colored feathers are gorgeous iridescent in bright sunlight. The sky was mostly cloudy for this photo muting the blues and purples.

Fun fact: Alligator flag is also known as Fire flag and is native to Florida growing in swamps and naturally wet areas - blooms summer to fall.

If you want to go far you have to keep the balance...

Thanks a lot to all Flickr member friends for visiting, all faves and comments are much appreciated.

For the Smile on Saturday challenge: "reflections on white"

Back in March I was shooting these little Japanese dishes against a dark background (see the previous shot) so I decided to try to do a similar arrangement against white for today's challenge. It proved to be really difficult to get the background properly white!

HSoS ;o)

Balance or balance wheel of a pocket watch.

It just hit me as soon as I typed in this title - Balance - that's what I need lately. Feels like things have been swinging one way more than the other. Ok. Enough of that. This coyote really didn't mind me at all. I followed it quite a while hunting along the river. It was just us. It eventually came to this old fallen tree and branches in the river and to my surprise it climbed on them and was looking in the water for it's next prey. It didn't catch or find anything, but when it looked up at me I thought it made for a cool-looking shot. The way it's legs mimic the branches.

The dark does not destroy the light; it defines it.

It is our fear of the dark, that casts our joy into the shadows.

A rare B&W from me these days, end of autumn is all about colour, but colour hid the scene before me as it was all about the branch balancing in the Y of a birch. How it came to be there we will never know as it is in a remote area of Barnes's Grove, Buckinghamshire.

This burrowing owl chick was working on both its flying skills and keeping its balance. Kinda like walking and chewing gum at the same time?

Thanks so much to everyone who takes the time to view, fave or comment on my photos!
