This baby Barred Owl in Blacklick Woods was having a hard time trying to keep it's balance while branching when a strong wind came along.
There are two baby Barred Owls in Blacklick I couldn't find the other one but momma was close by, I was talking to a lady who said that the other one was spotted in another tree yesterday. I watched this one for about 20 minutes the lighting was really bad do to the growth of the leaves on the tree, and it was pretty high up in the tree, it did fly to a nearby branch so that tells me that they won't be around much longer there are so many trees around for it to branch on it'll be hard telling where this one ends up tomorow.
I wanna thank fredmiller13 for showing us where theses babies were, with the way the woods have greened up it would have been impossible to know they were there.

Assistant Professor Sandra Saavedra directs the University of Hartford's Pediatric Balance Laboratory, where she and her physical therapy students conduct research to determine which senses children use to stay upright. They analyze, in detail, how children without disabilities learn to sit, stand, and, finally, walk. They are also evaluating children with disabilities to understand how their development is different, with an eye towards creating new treatments in the future.
The lab is part of the Institute for Translational Research in the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions at the University of Hartford.

Title: Scales, balance
Description: Balance and weights set. This set belonged to Edouard Cafler. The set is contained in a wooden box with rounded corners. The box has two metal hook latches at the front of the box. The interior of the box contains the balance set, which consists of a metal balance beam with a dial at the centre, and a suspension ring at the top. Attached with green cord to either end of the balance are two brass dishes. There are compartments in the base of the box which contains the balance, and also a set of 14 brass weights ranging from 1 gram to 200 grams. There are complementary compartments in the top of the box to hold the weights in place. Handwritten on the underside of the lid of the box is a list of conversions from grammes to pounds and ounces.

Took me so long to decide which version of this photo I liked.
Finally went with black and white.
Still, two more versions in comments, because I figured I would get other opinions.
Developed and shot this concept with CJ, earlier on the same night as this photo.
It's a Brenizer of around 12 shots combined.
We stayed up until 630am taking photos. It was an adventure.
I love how this has different focal points, all different in color, subject, and texture but they all blend together. From the serenity of the bottom left to the motion of the top right I found this to be both intriguing and artistic.

Title: Balance, letter
Description: Letter balance.
First Post Office letter balance, used in Mangonui Post Office.
Rectangular wooden base on four bakelite feet. Engraved in the wooden bass near the smallest weight is "N[broad arrow]Z". Brass screws, scales, and attachments for weighing are set on the top of the base. Engraved on the letter pan is "J&E RATCLIFF / MAKERS". Contained in slots at the front of the scales are seven square brass weights, graduating in size from ¼ oz. to 8 oz. Each weight is narrower at the base than at the top with a disc shaped knob on top. Engraved on top of each weight is the weight in ounces and the corresponding price for a letter.
