Made some epic Breaded Pork Chops for dinner tonight! Did an Egg Wash, Progresso Italian-style Bread Crumbs, a 2nd Egg Wash and then French's Crispy Fried Onions. The Fried Onions take them to a whole new level!
Then I made some Crispy Smashed Potatoes using a recipe that I found on All Recipes. 👨🍳

We picked up this bread at Le Bus on the way out of town for tomorrow's sausauge stuffing that we're going to whip up. I'm grateful that we made it back to the folks safe and sound, and that we weren't affected by all the flooding we passed on the drive into Central PA. Wow! Were those riverbanks overflowing on the way out of town! Hope everyone made it to their travels safely! Happy Bokeh Wednesday!

An attempt at "Fine Art" photography - created using an old baking tray as the background and a basic studio type set-up of two lamps, a tin-foil reflector, a white paper diffuser and a tripod.
Photoshop processing: Converted to black and white and added a pale Sepia tone. Adjusted levels slightly, and added some noise to finish off.
I got the idea from Digital Camera Magazine.

I roasted them in the juices from the slow cooked chicken and boar, and as a result they tasted rather good! Miraculously some have survived for lunch tomorrow…

Had a bit of trouble getting these out of the tray in one piece! Next time i'll be sure to grease AND flour the tray. These were absolutely delicious by the way, went down a storm, only got to have one!!!
Meanwhile heat the oil with shredded rosemary and thyme in the oven warming for the meat...See the blog entry here
