My daughter and I spent the afternoon baking up some goodies for my niece's birthday.
See a tutorial for the waffle cone here.
I still have not had my main oven fixed/replaced. The little table-top oven works just fine for baking scones - just took 3 loads for 12 scones!
Did not get a good shot of the apple cake I made... I got carried away with only doing macro shots, but none of them turned out well...

After spending the night at the Bristlecone Pines National Forest (29° F), I made my way down to Death Valley (96° F) to see about the sunset on the Mesquite Sand Dunes.
Every time you visit the Dunes is a totally different experience. The possible comps out there are limitless, and you never know what you will find.
On this trip, I was fascinated with this particular patch of baked mud, and the shape of the sand dunes in the background.
I don't normally do a lot of black and white photos, but this just seems to really work well on this photo.

Thanks for all of your brownie enthusiasm : ). I had shot them to complement an earlier photo I took and shot a few different versions. This one I thought went best with the other photo as a diptych but the one I posted stand-alone is my overall fave of the series.
Late at night, I discovered this minifigure baking the cookies that are being smuggled through the Barber Shop :-) I don't know if Ace Brickman knows what's going on or not :-)
Bones: "You forgot the black pepper. I can still add some..."
Juicy: "And I can sprinkle some orange extract on the parts..."
Billder: "I must check that this building material fulfills all EU directives..."
Candy: "I must make sure it tastes right... nomnomnom..."

seen on this day two years ago in my kitchen.
many years ago we wanted to install an island
in our kitchen as we have very little counter space.
After having an outfit come in and giving us an
estimate - gulp ! - I decided to make do.
I had been watching a video of Bedouin women make a full
meal complete with pita bread and main course
in a tent, I figured I was well off :))
