The FFF+ Group have a weekly challenge called “Snap Happy Monday". This week the theme, "animals" was chosen by Cheryl - Vickypoint

This was taken yesterday when George made an escape through his food door. I assume I didn't close the door hatch properly while removing his bowl.

I was in the kitchen preparing his food when I heard the telltale patter of little feet close by. That could only mean one thing.

Cockatoo on the loose.

The second thing I knew was about to happen, happened-he made a beeline for my feet. He had me bailed up in the corner of the kitchen. I grabbed the nearest thing on hand to protect my feet which was a baking tray on top of the stove and held it over my feet and called for help. No help came. He eventually lost interest and wandered off to make mischief elsewhere. The camera was near by so I snuck past and got down low. He was happy to wave to me and say bye bye while I snapped off a few images.

The Sherpa eventually came into the room (the only one who can handle him) and popped him back in his cage.

Alfie my budgie and Harpo are wondering why they aren't featured. If I get time I will put them up.

Eine besondere Attraktion im IGA-Park Rostock-Schmarl ist die ehemalige Westmolen-Bake von Warnemünde.

Diese Molen-Bake mit Leuchtfeuer ist eine Stahlkonstruktion, die 1963 in der Rostocker Neptunwerft gebaut wurde. Von dem Zeitpunkt bis 1983 versah sie treu und zuverlässig ihren Dienst am Kopf der Warnemünder Westmole. Nach der Sanierung der Westmole wurde das neue nun grün-weiße Leuchtfeuer installiert.

Die alte Bake wurde für zwei Jahre eingelagert und ab 1985 steht sie im IGA-Park als maritimes Denkmal.

On a recent trip to Syracuse, New York I stopped at this landmark bakery. Having grown up 25 miles away I was raised on this bread. Columbus has been making Italian bread in Syracuse since 1895 and it is my all-time favorite. Walking in the front door is a step back in time. You are not walking into a shiny retail area with the typical glass counters holding baked goods. Once you close the door behind you, you find yourself standing in the bakery itself. Here they make 3 shapes of Italian bread and that is all they do. Loaves of bread are stacked up at the small four-foot counter next to the door and one of the many bakers will come over while wiping the flour from his hands to ring you up. Best bread ever!

I will be out of work soon...Detroit is cleaning up. Many of my personal favorite 'landmarks' have been demolished and the graffiti everywhere is getting covered with a fresh coat of paint.

Soon I will be but a distant memory in your mind.

I like how it pulled itself apart during baking, and how the flour looks on the outside.

M wanted to make some cup cakes so we bought a pack of cases in the local convenience store. But back home they seemed too big and looking again at the box we realised the cases were for muffins!

Not what M wanted, but always looking for something I've added them to my box of items that might come in useful sometime!

But I just had to remove a few!

Put them on my desktop and side light them!

Looked more than interesting!

Camera, adapter, extension tube, and a scruffy enlarger lens that I picked up on eBay and hadn't used before, all mounted on a table-top tripod.

Took a photograph.

Quite like the result - looks to be B&W but camera was set for colour!

Oh! And the cakes didn't get made, but a 'cut & come again' fruit cake did! Next time ......!

De pachter van de bakspieker wilde in 1900 een schuurtje voor zijn varkens erbij bouwen. Dat mocht van de barones, op voorwaarde dat de stal om de achttiende-eeuwse zomereik heen zou komen. De omvang van de boom neemt jaarlijks met zo’n drie centimeter toe. De pannen schuiven mee.
