Transportation Director Leah Treat announced today that the Portland Bureau of Transportation surpassed its goal of preserving 100 lane miles of City streets during the budget year that ended June 30.
In 2015-16, PBOT expects to apply more crack sealing to arterial streets, as a way to extend the life of those streets and avoid more costly rebuilds and repaving projects. At a news conference on North Argyle Street, crews demonstrated how it works.
For every $15 million we invest in preventive maintenance, PBOT estimates the City of Portland can avoid at least $50 million a year in future costs.
I just had to make three sets of the Free Spirit-basics by Beth Webber! They are so cute! I love that my dolls can play triplets and wear the same clothes in different colours, and I really fell in love with the love-knots used for the ruffled edges!

I know I really should take new pictures, I only have oldies to show you, I'm afraid. :(
I need motivation, but it's hard with these grey skies. ^_^
Je sais que je devrais vraiment faire de nouvelles photos, j'ai bien peur de n'avoir que des vieilleries à vous montrer. :(
J'ai besoin de motivations, mais c'est dur avec ces ciels gris. ^_^

A new old birthday present. A Nikon FE. This challenge I like. I hope I learn something new along the way ... & that my family puts up with my suggestions.

The front of the barn at Lord Stirling's Quarters - Valley Forge National Historic Park. The road scene in the foreground is Yellow Springs Rd. Most photos of this venue at Valley Forge NHP have a tendency to not include Yellow Springs Road in the picture. As this road is a part of the journey that brings the park visitor to the site. then it is only fitting that the strip of asphalt is a part of the wide angle picture that I have taken.
This photo was shot as a part of the back to the basics project using my EOS Digital Rebel XT and the base kit lens. The phot was post processed as an HDR/tonemapped image using Photomatix 4.02 and was cleaned up in Lightroom 3. The three exposures were taken at -1 2/3 EV, 0 EV, and + 1 2/3 EV. I used an f/14 aperture to maximize the depth of field in the shot and to make sure that I got the optimum quality from the inexpensive lens.
