The Flickr Lounge - Circle - not sure I'll manage a new shot for this week's theme, but will try for at least one. Happy New Year!

Thank you in advance for visiting and for any comments - always appreciated. Apologies in advance for being a poor contact over the next few weeks, but we've got a ton of family events on over the festive season so I'm going to be pushed to take photos, let alone edit and upload.

Transportation Director Leah Treat announced today that the Portland Bureau of Transportation surpassed its goal of preserving 100 lane miles of City streets during the budget year that ended June 30.
In 2015-16, PBOT expects to apply more crack sealing to arterial streets, as a way to extend the life of those streets and avoid more costly rebuilds and repaving projects. At a news conference on North Argyle Street, crews demonstrated how it works.
For every $15 million we invest in preventive maintenance, PBOT estimates the City of Portland can avoid at least $50 million a year in future costs.

I spend most of my days speaking Portuguese and so quite often I realise when trying to talk in English that I forget some of the words. But when the other day I had to actually look up how to spell 'august' I knew action was needed. So in preperation for my visit back home to England I am getting back to the basics!

This was my first attempt at making homemade bar soap, lye and all. It popped out of the molds without any problems. Yay!

Light, camera, reflection!
Light and shadows - my camera's starving,
Reflected memory once more departing.
The lens is thirsty for colours and rays,
I'll capture the moment if shutter obeys.
At approximately 3pm this afternoon, I ate a large plate of tater tots covered with cheese sauce, bacon bits, and slices of jalapeno.
You may be able to guess why dinner was fruit salad.

I just had to make three sets of the Free Spirit-basics by Beth Webber! They are so cute! I love that my dolls can play triplets and wear the same clothes in different colours, and I really fell in love with the love-knots used for the ruffled edges!
