At my summer internship with Macbeth Photography in downtown Orlando, experimentation and spur-of-the moment ideas are encouraged.
With the recent launch of the next generation MacBook Pro, I couldn't help but be inspired by Apple's iconic minimal and isolated product shots. The goal was to recreate and emulate their style on our own.
To achieve these shots, we turned off all the lights in our all black studio and "painted" with light. Believe it or not, our light sources included the LED from an iPhone 4S, and the screen backlights from an iPad or iPod touch. Stay tuned to our blog at MacbethPhoto.com for a more in-depth explanation of this technique.
Very very pleased with the results and looking forward to revisiting this technique with more subjects and projects!
Finally got one of the new Aluminum MacBooks! It's been kinda weird to make the transfer from Windows over to Mac, but mostly just minor things like getting used to a computer that actually works flawlessly. No viruses, no processes that suddenly hangs and quits for no reason and last but not least; the computer is so extremely fast and has a battery life of around 4,5 hours! You might say that I'm somewhat of a happy camper these days now! =)
Although it is 2.5 years old already, this baby will always be my best laptop. A dream come true being able to own it :)
Lord help me, I am so easily amused / pleased / entertained sometimes ... So, I gave my old notebook away and had to get a new one ... This new one has a backlit keyboard - yee ha!!! *laughing* ... This new one has also been freaking me out a little - no really ... I've had Latitude's in the past and this one isn't a Latitude, so little things like no latch on the monitor / lid is - it's just - *shaking my head* - it's weirding me out, man ...

Corsair Mechanical MX Cherry (blue switches) keyboard. Phenomenal. Old IBM Keyboardesque lol.
Taken with sony A7 fullframe and 50mm 1.8 e-mount lens. Note vignetting along sides. Great in low light though.
Yup. It's a keyboard. Still working on getting a really cool shot of the backlit keyboard.

A PS Job on MacBook/Pro Backlit Keyboard. The middle row shows the word "Security".
Created dedicate for my freelance work for a website.
Ah back-lit keyboard. How you light up my night. For the topic technology I really wanted to get some all access pass to a beautiful server room but unfortunately I don't know anybody to give me one. So I settled on my MacBook. Second only to my iPhone, my MacBook is usually somewhere near me. All day. Everyday.
**I really should start putting more thought into these themes...Maybe next week.
**Also I must say, that's some mighty fine DOF.
first shots with the new camera...RICHO GX200
I'll be returning the RICHO because of unacceptable image noise at ISO 200. ISO 400 is down right disgusting, and dont even think about >400.
I really wanted to like this camera, great feel, excellent build, but not versatile enough for my needs.
This camera is severely hindered by only producing quality images at ISO 100 and below.
Sorry RICHO i'll be spending a few hundred more on a Leica.
