I probably should have titled it, "Deep. Blue. Background." The reason is because this is Crater Lake, Oregon. Not far from here it reaches a depth of 1,949 feet. It's in the top ten of deepest lakes in the world with it's ranking varying based on what a particular list bases it's measurements. (Southern Oregon Cascades trip DSC_7943.jpg)
I'm not actually interested in wildlife photography but I was visiting a local garden centre yesterday and a whole collection of rescued owls was there, surrounded by people taking photos and being photographed holding them. I've never been entirely comfortable seeing things like that but of course the impulse to take photos myself was irresistible. I also recognise that the people who take care of these beautiful creatures do a good job - the birds certainly wouldn't survive in the wild - and have to raise funds somehow. In this case the rescue centre is Lancashire Hawks and Owls and I hope they made lots of money during a very busy day. And I hope all the birds weren't as bored as they looked!

It's hard to take a picture in Hamnøy during winter, the background dissapears because of the mist! here is the picture I finally took without mist just in case you wanna see the background flic.kr/p/2hDrMxs
So...yeah, I changed this background too, but I took some pictures with the old one (In case you guys see a contranst between the old one and the new one😋😋😋)

A case of poor background? Hard to see the 'subject', which is why I did not as I passed close by. Possibly a Red Diamondback? Sharon would know, maybe when she gets back we will know!
600mm - thanks to the converter I got from Thorsten for a day. I will buy this extender for the next safari - really good with the 300 2.8.
The background is not blue sky... it is a hill :)

Ranunculus are becoming more and more trendy. All the vibrant colours are so very attractive and all together, they also work.
However here I selected just yellow ones, fitting for Easter and Spring...

Cranbrook is one of my favorite places. A friend of mine lived quite close to the campus and I came here at least 6-7 times over the years but never got lucky with getting a foggy morning when I was there. It's stunning in every season really and I was missing it today for some reason.
