Adding a splash of colour to the otherwise all grey and blue bus scene in Wolverhampton, TWM Birmingham heritage Metrobus 2856 heads off down Warstones Road in Wolverhampton, having just departed the Springhill Lane Terminus at Penn. 2856, was just a temporary visitor, being a Christmas time loan to the town's Park Lane bus garage.

It's that time of year again when FGW/GWR HSTs get their passports stamped for places not usually visited. HST Power Car 43144 sits at the backend (soon to the front end) of a FGW/GWR service not long having arrived at Marylebone from Wales. Thanks to the Christmas engineering work at Paddington Welsh Great Western Services were diverted into Marylebone (the only time I've seen or heard of HSTs using this London Terminus) while the rest were diverted into Waterloo. While a pain in the arse for Christmas Travellers it's something of a 'cop' for Train enthusiasts like myself. At least said travellers were greeted at Marylebone by good looking elves dispensing free biscuits!

This photo is the eye of a Common Quaker / Orthosia cerasi
It's the right time of year to see this relatively large European moth. It is only around for two or three months in the springtime. It's the backend of the season for them so I'm happy I managed to get a photo of one. Most people I speak to don't like moths too much but I think they are incredible. I preffer them to most butterflies. I thought I would give the coloured backgrounds a break and try something a little more abstract.
There are so many things i like about moths I could waffle on all day about it. I'll not waste your time by writing about it here, but I'll just pick one thing. Those scale tipped hairs, more obvious in the top right area of this photo. There are lots of images around of them as they make a good subject for testing high magnification lenses, that aside I find them fascinating, even the tiniest of moths have them too.

Although this beautiful wagon has some added Bel Air trim, the only Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Station Wagon in 1955 was the Nomad. Chevrolet's other 2-Door Station Wagon offerings were the 150 and 210 Handyman, while the 150 and 210 4-Door wagons were called the Townsman.

Midway through the 1936 model year, the cabs on Chevrolet trucks underwent a design change. Trucks produced during the first half of the model year were built with a square cab design popular in truck lines for over a decade. At mid-year, Chevrolet began building a more rounded cab body reflective of automotive styling trends in the mid-30s, along with the styling of many competitors trucks. The more squared cabs became known as "high cabs" while the more rounded cabs were known as "low cabs."
