Initial port of call last weekend was a spot beside Loch Stack that Iain and I first visited during February this year. It had been a fairly untypical winter's day insomuch as the sky was blue and pretty much cloudless (otherwise known as 'bland' as far as photography is concerned!). I was keen to go back under different conditions and Saturday's forecast suggested just that. We weren't to be disappointed - some lovely intermittent light on Arkle and the foreground, colourful bracken and some great drama in a heavily clouded sky.

Started working on a new backdrop, I'd been wanting to take shots on what looks like a city street so I had this idea to make a facade, it's gonna be layered with stuff infront of it so hopefully your eye won't go right to the obviously 2D backdrop but I feel like this may be the only way I'll get the shots I want, the backdrop was made using texture files from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3's New York city level.

A fierce rainstorm takes the backdrop as a considerably late WANM makes its way east through Pittsfield. The sun was dancing right on the fringes of the storm, and we were bouncing between sprinkles and full fledged golden hour light during our chase, with the storm just to the east. It's not every day that I am able to shoot sucker holes with a background such as this. Once the sun disappeared just minutes later, it is predicted not to return for another day as steady rains fall in eastern and central Maine.

Petroglyphs had many uses, and some are still in use. It's common to see a flat space in front of a panel, as a place for Protocols, a stage for a performance of some kind, or a space for a vision quest. This seems like such a space to me.

The Final Curtain 2016

This collection of 12 images is a bit of an eclectic mix, it also gives one the opportunity to visit folders not seen in a long while.

I want to take the time and thank each and every one of you that have viewed and faved or commented on my stuff.

I wish you all a peaceful New Year as I go back to listening to the Triumphal Scene from Aida, this will be my last posting of 2016, Best wishes.
