Kids spend much of their day at school, so it’s important for schools to offer healthy and nutritious food choices. Thanks to the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act, school meals are being transformed to promote better nutrition and reduce obesity nationwide. Eating smart helps kids learn, play and grow.
This is one of my favorite pictures from our basketball Back to School swim party.
It's a favorite because of all the kids from the different age level teams that are interacting with each other. All of our teams are very close and supportive of each other. It's great to see how so many kids from different schools and backgrounds come together and have some fun as a group.
School started today and I officially have three kids in three different schools. Chiara is in third grade at El Dorado Elementary, where she's been since K (the older kids also went there for all of elementary school); Mirabai is in 7th grade at a charter school called Monte del Sol--an awesome place far as we can tell right now; and Soren is in 8th grade at Capshaw Middle school. Hopefully he'll get into Monte next year. Capshaw has a somewhat punitive feel to it....a far cry from Monte...but we'll see how it goes. Soren really wants to be there so, I'll take my cues from him.
Yay for lots of driving!
In one more year, Gray will be in Kindy...Can't believe it.
