It has been speculated that Kabah was occupied for a short time by Maya-Toltecs from Chichen Itza, and this portion of the building may date from that period.
What are often described as "Toltek" or Central Mexican warriors are featured on the eastern side of the Codz Poop. The background behind the figures shows patterns representing huge feathered backracks which the kings (or governors) are wearing. These backracks were presumably made of irridescent green quetzal feathers.
People use their imaginations in interesting ways sometimes, when they look at trees. Using our imaginations, we can transform trees into rocket ships, or clipper ships, or even people. I do this all the time. With this particular tree, a cork bark Japanese black pine cv. ‘Ondae’, I transform it into a very old Mayan warrior, replete with a backrack exploding with feathers and jade ornaments. He is also wearing a “hat” exploding with more feathers and jade.
He is old, so he is dancing slowly, mostly vertically, but making very clear arcs in space. With these arcs, he is describing time, all the time he has left to dance. He is so old, but in his mind he sees the combat, all the fights he has been in, all the defeats he has suffered, and all the victories awarded him. He is dancing slowly and I wonder if he can hear me shouting—It’s okay! You can rest.

The east face or back of COPAN STELA F in the Copán Great Plaza of the Copán Mayan Ruins in Honduras. The feathered backrack of 18 Rabbit is portrayed on the back of Stela F which is comprised of medallion shaped Groups of Four Mayan Glyphs Surrounded by Rope.
On its west face (on the other side), Stela F bears a portrait of Waxaklajuun Ub'aah K'awiil, the 13th Ruler of Copán, also known as 18 Rabbit.
Stela F was erected by the ruler 18 Rabbit.
Just on the other side of Stela F you can see a bit of the south side of the Altar of Stela F. Across the Great Plaza, to the left of Stela F is Stela B and sticking up above Stela B is Stela E, standing on top of the raised terrace defining the west side of the Great Plaza.

Dave from Maryland says, "A 60' oak tree landed on my new Dodge 3500 during the height of the Hurricane [Irene] last Saturday night. The back rack of my diamond HD cover most likely saved the 3-month old truck from being totaled. As you can see there is cab damage, but once we lifted the tree, we drove the truck out. The tree was impaled 3" into the post on the top of the backrack. We will send more once we have power in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene in Southern MD.
