"The fountain of Praça do Peixe is authored by Eng. João Honorato da Fonseca Regala, just like the Chafariz do Espírito Santo or das Cinco Bicas. The material used in its construction (limestone) came from Outil and Ançã, since this type of stone did not exist in Aveiro. In fact, because there is no stone, in the 19th century, there was a need to destroy the medieval wall that surrounded the city, for the civil construction and for the works of the bar.
