A recent news article informed us that birds that love to play are the most intelligent. Australian Native Cockatoos and Parrots just love to play and there is no doubt they are intelligent. Comparisons are often made to kids up to the age of 3+. Like this Corella at Buckley's Hole, Bribie Island, the various types of cockatoos, galahs, and even other birds like crows, magpies and noisey miners just love to play and muck around. Watching them is sheer delight. Most relate very well to humans also.

Adopted January 22 2004. Our boy for over 14 years, and forever in my heart. Nineteen years to the day after we adopted him, and gone for several years, I still think of him as my best buddy.

I loved the way he would chill out at the top of the stairs and keep track of everything, even when he was ready for a nap. Photo taken a few weeks after he joined our family and already looking out for us.

Buckleys Falls is located between Highton and Fyansford. A weir and water race was built above the falls in 1876 to provide power for the Fyansford Paper Mill. The falls were named by John Helder Wedge after escaped convict William Buckley who lived in the area with Aborigines for 32 years from 1803.

A product of the South Buckley Rock Brick Co which operated under this name from the early 1890s until the closure of the works in 1914. Fireclay was supplied along with coal for the kilns from the adjacent colliery. When the colliery closed in 1909 the clay and coal was brought by a tramroad from the associated North Buckley site, which had been rename as West Buckley Colliery by this time.
