I was bored this afternoon so i went for a drive. I found this place 17 minutes from my house. I never even knew about it.
I don't plan on doing any sunrise shots for a while, they're just too early now, so i'm now trying out sunsets, ha!

A pair of IC SD70s lead A407 into Buckley, Illinois as seen from a shuttered gas station on the other side of Route 45. Once a town of over 700, Buckley's population has declined to under 500 in the past decade, and the number of businesses in town are dwindling.
Two matching IC SD70s lead A408 into Buckley, Illinois during the empty void between winter and spring known as March.
Buckley's is a favorite dining and meeting place for world-renowned artists, professional athletes and wealthy patrons. Centreville is an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware. It is the location of Du Pont family estates, as well as several other wealthy business families from nearby Wilmington. Print Size 13x19 inches.
I'm as puzzled as a newborn child.
I'm as riddled as the tide.
Should I stand amid the breakers?
Or shall I lie with death my bride?
Here me sing: "Swim to me, swim to me,
Let me enfold you."
Here I am, Here I am, waiting to hold you."

On the way back down from the walk to the top of Thieveley Scout, a quick stop before the steep descent through Buckley Wood to take this photo of the pine trees through a gap in the drystone wall. Just short of a 6 mile walk through this lovely countryside and I didn’t see one other person the whole way round, seems since the lockdown restrictions eased people have been heading off to the beaches and National Parks where they are not wanted.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

(This is older, but I found it on the hard drive and it's such a nice photo of our handsome boy...I've left it open on my laptop all week. More later. We're still very sad...we knew he was having some trouble, but thought we'd have a little more time with Tub. xoxo)
Not long now before the shed doors at Bury Baron St are replaced by modern roller shutters.

The Buckley Homestead - The Buckley Homestead Living History Farm is a 150 year old farmstead that is overseen as a county park just south of Lowell, Indiana. We accidentally stumbled on it on our drive from central Illinois to Michigan several weeks ago. On our return trip, we stopped there for an hour or so to walk the grounds. You can find out more information about the Homestead at: www.visitindiana.com/blog/post/experience-nineteenth-cent...
Many thanks for your visits, faves and comments. Cheers.
...from a visit to Buckley's Hole, Bribie Island. (Buckley's Hole Conservation Park is situated in the south-west corner of Bribie Island, the northern-most sand island in Moreton Bay, some 50 kilometres north of Brisbane. The park covers an area of 87.7 hectares and contains a freshwater lagoon, woodland, open forest and beach. It is this diversity of habitat that has led to such a large number of bird species being recorded in this small area, the present total standing at 270.)

After meeting the X335 at Delrey, BNSF-powered A497 rumbles south through the small town of Buckley, IL on a cool, cloudy, early fall afternoon along CN's Chicago Sub.
Adopted January 22 2004. Our boy for over 14 years, and forever in my heart. Nineteen years to the day after we adopted him, and gone for several years, I still think of him as my best buddy.
I loved the way he would chill out at the top of the stairs and keep track of everything, even when he was ready for a nap. Photo taken a few weeks after he joined our family and already looking out for us.
