Inspired by the 2017 Met Gala toilet break photoshoot by Cass Blackbird, I shot SILLEXADICTION in-between outfit swaps. Using a flashgun and film-like photographic filters, I was able to emulate a film camera aesthetic.

Bts during yesterday's workshop.

You've been asking me how I like the #hensel gear so far.

Well I will do a dedicated series of quite frankly on them highlighting the products in a sort of review but let me give you some very fast facts.

The mount is the best ever. Very simple and fast and you can rotate Every single modifier with ease. Especially great with striplight.

The reflectors have an amazing focus and throw. It really fits my style perfectly.

All their modifiers can be gridded with original grids (this is a big deal for me)

On the location gear the batteries are incredibly easy replaced. And it's light while still packing 1200 watts.

The wifi remote is cool although for me personally with my style it just helps. Most of the time I will just use the remote but with more than two strobes it's much easier on the remote.

The experts are crazy fast. And I mean crazy fast. We shot yesterday with some cameras that handle 14 fps and they didn't even blink or missed shots.

Final thing (the list is much longer but I'll save that) is the flash duration. I love to freeze motion and the experts yesterday clocked in at OVER 1/12000 of a second on the sekonic 858. This is more than twice as fast as what I used. If you don't freeze motion this is not a big deal. But for jumps or wind etc. It really makes a huge difference in sharpness.

Oh and I almost forgot. If you're into compositing Google freemask ;) you're gonna freak out. In short it's one shot and you get the original photo and a silhouette and you have the "perfect" cutout.
