We, in Brazil, hope that the last few days go down in History as the begining of a new era for us: Brazil has finally woken up after decades of being treated like cattle. I'm not easily moved, but seeing what I've been seeing has really touched me. With all my heart, I hope this is our time, our spring!

Há semanas apareceu perto da minha casa uma cachorrinha, sem raça definida ou, popularmente falando, vira-lata. Minha filha começou a chamá-la de Clô. Clô também exibia uma bela barriga, da qual nasceram, dia 19, cinco lindos meninos cães. Sim, todos machos! :) Este é um deles. Bonitinho, né? Fim.
A história é curta mesmo. Claro que esta não foi nem a primeira - e infelizmente - não será a última cachorrinha abandonada à merce da sorte. Muitas pessoas têm seus animais, não cuidam, nem previnem a gravidez e quando ela ocorre, soltam por aí. O ser humano devia observar e aprender com os cães, os quais amam incondicionalmente seus donos, amam mais eles do que a si próprio.
"Para um cão, você não precisa de carrões, de grandes casas ou roupas de marca. Símbolos de status não significavam nada para ele. Um graveto já está ótimo. Um cachorro não se importa se você é rico ou pobre, inteligente ou idiota, esperto ou burro. Um cão não julga os outros por sua cor, credo ou classe, mas por quem são por dentro. Dê seu coração a ele, e ele lhe dara o dele. É realmente muito simples, mas, mesmo assim, nós humanos, tão mais sábios e sofisticados, sempre tivemos problemas para descobrir o que realmente importa ou não. De quantas pessoas você pode falar isso? Quantas pessoas fazem você se sentir raro, puro e especial? Quantas pessoas fazem você se sentir extraordinário?" Do livro Marley e eu.

I'm also happy to tell you that after many letters that you sent this week, it finally happened the approval of the Draft Law on Conversion (PLV) 08/2010, at the Brazilian Federal Senate.
After the vote, the Indians moved, gathered at the entrance of the Congress and celebrated the victory, after almost two years of intense mobilization of indigenous leaders and organizations, calling for the end of the participation of Funasa.
With nearly 300 years of delay, the Senate approves creation of the Special Secretariat of Indigenous Health. A historical neglect should start to be repaired.
