FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. -The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, or ESGR, held a Boss Lift event at Fort Indiantown Gap on May 7-8. The Boss Lift program provides opportunities for employers to learn the benefits and challenges involved with employing National Guard and reserve members. Participants toured several training areas and got some hands-on experience in vehicle and flight simulators. Attendees also enjoyed an aerial tour of the surrounding area from aboard a Chinook helicopter. ESGR's Boss Lift highlights the value and skills military personnel bring to their civilian jobs and expresses gratitude to employers for their continued support of the military and National Guard and reserve members in the work force. Craig was my boss during my short bout at Oregon State's MUPC (I had to quit because I was simply too stressed and busy to work three jobs- sad, I know). I took headshots of all the directors, and although this one is perhaps less "professional" it suits him perfectly.
He has been in the news a lot lately for starting the Campaign for Understanding- a campaign to raise awareness and understanding for the LGBT community after the recent suicides across the nation (especially at Rutgers university). It makes me happy that my school is standing up to say hey, this is a safe, accepting place, and we won't tolerate hate.

The United States Army Garrison Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) organization hosted an awards ceremony here, recognizing outstanding service and achievement among its participating members and teams, March 24. Plaques and certificates of achievement were presented to individuals and teams for winning individual competitions and achieving the honor of being distinguished as the BOSS Representative of the month. On April 24, 2012, the Oklahoma ESGR team took a group of Oklahoma employers on a Boss Lift to Fort Chaffee, Ark, to visit with their employees who are members of the Oklahoma Army National Guard. The employers also had an opportunity to watch the 45th Fires Brigade launch rockets from their M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS). The group flew to Chaffee in an Oklahoma Army National Guard CH-47 "Chinook" and got to visit with their citizen-soldier while on the ground.

York Minster is England's largest medieval cathedral and almost impossible to do justice to. It has an awesome presence that cannot fail to impress.
Uniquely the cathedral was spared the ravages of the Civil War that decimated the medieval art of most English cathedrals and churches, and it thus possesses the largest collection of medieval glass in Britain throughout most of it's vast windows.

The Boss Lift program provides opportunities for employers to learn the benefits and challenges involved with employing National Guard and reserve members. Participants toured several training areas and witnessed demonstrations and exercises such as the Pre-mobilization Training Assistance Element, A-10 Warthog target firing, and an EC-130J air drop. Attendees also got some hands-on experience in vehicle and flight simulators.
