A real surprise, this lashup. A bigger surprise, that because of engine troubles on the train, I was able to catch it while coming home from work.

Shown departing Marulan NSW after another loco check stop.

I believe the lead engine was to be detached on arrival at Goulburn.

Now your wondering why this service is travelling down main!

CLP10, CLP9 and CLP12 combine to work a lightly loaded QRNational/Interail BM7 superfreighter through Hornsby. Prior to the introduction of the LDP Class on these trains, CLF/CLP and G Class power dominated.

Loading includes SCT freight moved by Aurizon on a Hook- and - Pull arrangement.

Aurizon's SCT freight ended when SCT commenced running their own trains on 22nd Jan 2017.

See Below for shot of first SCT operated train on the NSW North Coast.

LDP003, 6011, 6010 and LDP008 cruise down the flyover at Jacana as 5BM7 Aurizon intermodal service from Brisbane to Melbourne.

Aurizon's BM7 service rounds the curves through Goondah, south of Yass at sunset with LDP001 leading LDP002/6003.

Aurizon's Brisbane to Melbourne Intermodal service is seen here just near Maldon after doing it's shunt at Glenlee to pick up carriages from Aurizon's Sydney loading point at Yennora. 6003 was added to the train at Glenlee after 6027 brought the train solo down from Brisbane.

Train includes SCT wagons that that time QRN was doing hook and pull for SCT.

Late running LDP001 and LDP009 guide BM7 south away from Coramba

Having hoped for some 'classic EMD action' on the SCT shunt. None other than a 'new EMD' was on the point of 9791V to Laverton.

LDP001 in its 'rebadged' Downer EDI livery hauls a lengthy 9791V SCT transfer train past Kernot St level crossing at Spotswood from Aurizon's North Dynon depot to SCT's Laverton depot. These wagons were ex BM7 from Brisbane and on transfer back to SCT for the 2014 Christmas Break

Tuesday 23rd December 2014

LDP009 and 6009 climb the grade into Heathcote Junction as 5MB7 Aurizon intermodal service bound for Brisbane.

With SCT Logistics now operating their own services along the East Coast, Aurizon are no longer required to hook and pull their refrigerated ABSY and PGBY wagons from Melbourne to Brisbane, leaving MB/BM7 now looking rather.. incomplete.

6022/6027 power south through Maud St, Mayfield, with Aurizon's BM7 intermodal service.

QRNational's BM7 intermodal freighter races south outside of Kagaru on the way to Melbourne with G521 leading two CLP units.

With a bit of a messy background with poles and a electricity stanchion its still worth posting I think.

Aurizon's 3BM7 with LDP002/ LDP004 wait at Enfield West awaiting a path onto the Southern Sydney Freight Line with the SCT vans in tow and one of Pacific National's new cranes in the background. BM7 was waiting for 4490/ 4001/ 2705 to come off the freight line before heading to Glenlee.

Thurs 4th June 2015

Finished a CPR course at uni today to find a message on my phone from a friend to give him a call ASAP with big news. Upon reaching him, was told that there was triple QRN 6020 class on BM7, followed by Indian Pacific NR leading BA4 and finally NR103. On my previous 2 attempts NR103 had been elusive, coming after dark or not leading.

As we reached Pennant Hills, the triple QRN 6020 class went through so I knew I had just enough time to race home and get my camera and get back down for a shot.

Having sprinted to the car, raced home and then back to Cheltenham, I found my efforts were not in vain as a suburban to Chatswood was still to arrive. Seeing this I was able to relax a little and set up my shot. Shortly afterwards, NR103 appeared heading south making all the effort put in for the shot completely worth it

Brand new Aurizon ACC6031 and ACC6032 lead LDP006 and LDP007 southbound through Narara on BM7 heading for Melbourne. The 6030's eventual destination will be Western Australia. The ACC6030 is basically a 6020, but with modifications for certain workings in WA.

All Loaded Up, with no where to go... BM4, BM7, BW4 and BA6 all Loaded up and ready to head south at Acacia Ridge Yards, Brisbane... Due to Extreme Weather conditions south of the Border, it is uncertain when these Services will run...

This was the most extreme photography I have done, using all my 6 foot 5 inches frame, standing on my toes to clear the bushes for this shot...

6004 and LDP005 head southwards over the Cullerin Ranges with 6BM7.

X53 & X54 leading QRN BM7 through the Localty of Dingadee about 5 kms north of Dungog on the lower North Coast.

LDP006/LDP008 both still with QR National signage, lead BM7 south through Exeter.

LDP004 leads 6022 south through Thornleigh with BM7

SCT wagons off the BM7 service are moved between the QRN facilities at Dynon and the SCT complex at Laverton in Victoria. Motive power for this service varies depending on loco availability and today finds a rather clean LDP005 doing the duties.
