Train: Vy / NSB Rt from Oslo to Bergen with El18
Four locos from 4 different systems. CLP form National Rail South Australia; X from V LINE: 422 from NSW RAILWAYS & 28 from QLD.
Cutting across the Ontario countryside, Penn Central 3123 with Mechanicsville NY to Chicago IL train BM7 rolls through the superelevated curve at mile 210.4 on the PC's Canada Division Mainline. The train will re-enter the U.S. via the Detroit River Tunnel to Detroit. Off to the right, the old Burro crane sits on the branchline to Amherstburg. None of this exists today.
Train BM7 heads south across the bridge at Dulbolla on its way south. This shot took a few attempts over a couple of weeks. I suspect that with summer here, the weather is likely to be too unstable to try this stuff much for another 2 or 3 months. It's a combination of one shot with the bridge and train illuminated by flas, and about 30 3 minute exposures to get the star trails.

LDP001, LDP003 and 6041 make their way south towards Barnawartha as 5BM7 Aurizon intermodal service from Brisbane to Melbourne.
Aurizon ceased East coast intermodal services at the end of December 2017.

TITLE: Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat
Lyrics and Chords
[Aristocats]
Ev'rybody wants to be a cat
Because a cat's the only cat who knows where it's at
Ev'rybody's pickin' up on that feline beat
'Cause ev'rything else is obsolete
/ Em Em/D# Em/D Em/C# / C - C7 B7 / 1st / C Bm7 EmBm7 Em /
{Refrain}
Now a square with a horn, makes you wish you weren't born
Ev'ry time he plays (a rinky tinky tinky tinky)
But with a square in the act you can set music back
To the caveman days (a rinky tinky tinky tinky)

I've heard some corny birds who tried to sing
Still a cat's the only cat who knows how to swing
Who wants to dig a long-haired gig or stuff like that
When ev'rybody wants to be a cat
{Refrain}
Yes, ev'rybody wants to be a cat
Because a cat's the only cat who knows where it's at
When playin' scat who always has a welcome mat
'Cause ev'rybody digs a swingin' cat
Ev'rybody, ev'rybody
Ev'rybody wants to be a cat
Ev'rybody, ev'rybody
Ev'rybody wants to be a cat

If you look at the picture full size, there is a cheeky seal eating fish near the lower edge of the picture, near the Catharina's stern.
A sight once common in Queensland in the early Days or Aurizons MB7/BM7 intermodal service EL's on intermodal. Today three EL's 55/60/62 roared through Glenapp with a late running 3MB9.
The second last BM7 racing through Warath with plenty of horse power and a short train. Locos are 6041 + LDP005 & LDP008. 6041 was the last 6020 to depart Brisbane.on a BM7 service.
LDP009 & LDP002 leading the final operation of AURIZON intermodal BM7. The 6 wagon train reflects the run down of these services over the last few weeks.
QRN BM7 led by X54 + EL51 + 4614 + 4816 passing through Hilldale on 13th Nov. 2005. The use of the 48s on this train was a one off and exemplified the loco shortage QRN experienced in the early days of the BM7/MB7 services.
LDP001, LDP003 and 6041 race south towards Table Top as 5BM7 Aurizon intermodal service from Brisbane to Melbourne.

CLP10 (as CL17) was the last EMD Bulldog Nosed Locomotive constructed in the world.
Build Date June 1972.
Aurizon Intermodal service 3MP1 drops downgrade through Clapham with the surprising lash up of 6042/6027/6010/6028 on Wednesday the 6th of December 2017.
In August, Aurizon announced that they will be withdrawing their Intermodal operations by the end of December, however will remain operating in NSW/WA on Coal and Bulk services utilising some locomotives from the Intermodal pool.
Recent service reductions on MB7/BM7 and MP1/PM1 services have commenced in late October/November and other operators such as SCT logistics have picked up additional loading ahead of the busy Christmas season.

On a chilly winter morning at Jannali, Aurizon's 6003+6007 lead WG01 empty transfer train from Hexham to Wongawilli comprising of 30 QHAH type coal hoppers.
Aurizon has recently secured a two year contract to operate trains between Wongawilli and Inner Harbour; this being the train which will be used to run these services which will transfer 800,000 tonnes of coal per year.
It is rare to see Aurizon services on the Illawarra; generally only when MB7/BM7 are diverted due to trackwork two or three times a year. This is believed to be the first time an Aurizon coal train has operated on this line.
See: www.aurizon.com.au/news/news/aurizon-secures-coal-contrac... and www.illawarramercury.com.au/story/4103342/mine-finds-big-... for further information.
Aurizon service 2BM7 is seen here powering through Shiels Hill curve with a lengthy Intermodal Service bound for Melbourne.
LDP001 and LDP002 wear the EDI Blue livery (LDP003 also wears this) whilst the other LDP class at Aurizon wear the QR National Livery. LDP001 is unique in that it has now QR National signwriting on the side, and has Downer signage on the front. It has recently had another logo change owing to Downer updating their logo.
SCT loading hauled by Aurizon at that time. First SCT operated service on the NSW North Coast line was on 22nd January 2017.
CLP10 has the distinction of being the last EMD Steamliner built in the world. (Originally CL17). Now a Heritage Unit.
6021 and sister unit 6023 power through the site of Mathiesons Siding towards Wandong as 1BM7 Aurizon intermodal service from Brisbane to Melbourne.

AURIZON 3MB7 led by 6021 + CF4409 + 6027 passing Teralba on 16th November 2016.
This is the first use of a CF on MB7 / BM7 services.
Behind to the right is the ex Station Masters cottage dating from an era when all stations were manned and Teralba was a busy yard handling through freights and local non-air coal trains from Northern Extended & Pacific Collieries situated in the valley behind. The original 1880s, (Teralba station opened 1887,) single Sydney to Newcastle track passed along the valley from Fassifern bank until the Booragul deviation was built in 1903 to ease grades.
The locos represent 50% of QRN's 422 fleet (The other being 42206) and similarly 50% of their G Class fleet (the other being G534).
42202 has just arrived at SCT Logistics terminal in Laverton as 9791 from North Dynon with 5BM7's SCT loading from Brisbane.
For nearly 7 years, QR National, now Aurizon, operated a shuttle service from their North Dynon terminal to SCT Logistics at Laverton 6 days a week. The transfers were a mix of taking wagons to and from each depot to then be taken onto Brisbane or just light engine movements if there was no loading. However on the 21st of January, SCT Logistics hauled their first service from Laverton to Brisbane, no longer requiring Aurizon to transport wagons on their MB/BM7 services. The following week no more shuttle services occurred, bringing an end to nearly 7 years of operation.
