The BLM in Oregon and Washington is dedicated to protecting America's Great Outdoors from the threat of fire. Thank you, BLM Firefighters!
This sign says "The people helping you here today believe Black Lives Matter and reject racial injustice. All are welcome here." This was outside Urban Outfitters on Guad. It was around 30 minutes from my apartment, but I was downtown studying with a friend. In my immediate community it comes up a decent amount in the context of the news and things going on in the area.

Volunteers accompanied BLM staffers from the Vale district to do weed removal and trail maintenance at the Leslie Gulch Recreation Area for National Public Lands Day, Sept. 27, 2014.
In this photo, volunteers Rodney Sehorn and Jim Klauzer trim brush from a trail.
Thanks to all who showed up at Slocum Creek Campground and worked around the volcanic formations to make the area more accessible. The Leslie Gulch area is home to rare plants and wildlife such as Bighorn sheep, Rocky
Mountain elk, bobcats, and a variety of bird and reptile species.

In the heart of California's Central Coast, the Fort Ord National Monument encompasses a sweeping landscape of vivid beauty and rich natural diversity. One of the few remaining expanses of large, contiguous open space in the increasingly developed Monterey Bay and Salinas Valley area, this area is a rolling landscape of maritime chaparral, oak woodland, grassland, vernal pool and wet meadow. Originating in the Pleistocene Epoch, ancient dunes provide the foundation for this landscape's unique array of plant and wildlife communities.
Unique habitats support a tremendous diversity of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Many visitors to the national monument get a chance to see bobcats, coyotes, black-tailed deer, rabbits and ground squirrels. Mountain lions, California badgers, red fox and Monterey ornate shrews also share this coastal treasure. The skies are patrolled by vultures, red-tailed hawks, and kestrels while California quail, turkeys and road runners often scamper about on the ground. In the spring, don't be surprised to see California king-snakes, gopher snakes, garter snakes and occasionally rattlesnakes sunning themselves on the sun-baked roads. In the winter, you might see the federally protected California tiger salamander on the move towards vernal pools as they fill with water.

BLM policy is to allow the safe use of firearms on public lands – for both hunting and shooting sports – as provided for in state law, and to cooperate with state authorities in the enforcement of firearms regulations.

Richmond, Va / USA - August 8th, 2020: A mirror left at the vandalized Robert E. Lee statue on Monument Avenue after protests at the new Marcus David Peters Circle. The mirror reads "We are your mirror" and is decorated with flowers.
Eagle Scout Ryan Crow led a project during Summer 2019 to replace fencing that had been damaged by vandalism. During the project, scouts and Bureau of Land Management staff cleared brush, replaced fence posts, replaced missing wire, replaced an H-brace, and hauled off about 96 cubic feet of trash. Crow’s project covered half of a one mile total fencing project. (BLM Photo by Deej Brown)

Protests and riots sprung up across the U.S. this week following the death of George Floyd, a black man suffocated by a police officer during an arrest in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Monday.
Around 7 p.m., a protest began in Oklahoma City at the intersection of NW 23rd & Classen. Chants of "NO JUSTICE. NO PEACE." filled the air as hundreds of protesters circled the road to block traffic. Dozens of police officers arrived. Arrests were made. I took as many photos as I could.
Much of the early portion of the protest was peaceful. I couldn't see anyone fighting until police arrived to clear the intersection. Around 9 p.m., protesters started marching toward toward the Plaza District and eventually marched to the Oklahoma City Police Department Headquarters, 700 Colcord, and eventually dispersed from the area at about midnight.

These are on the boarded up Apple store. They are such high quality and I hope to see Apple preserve them somehow.
