This song is dedicated to my love Cla Jones She has a way to make my heart melt with every word and every moment , she has a way to touch my soul.

So I'm a big Billy Joel fan. I love all of his music. Yes I know he's the piano man, I am saving that pic for another day.

I've decided to create a Billy Joel Collection of pics dedicated to his music. No, most of the pics will not include a piano.

Anyway let's start with one of my original faves from the Cold Spring Harbor album ... She's Got A Way

lyrics:

She's got a way about her

I don't know what it is

But I know that I can't live without her

She's got a way of pleasin', mmh

I don't know what it is

But there doesn't have to be a reason

Anyway

She's got a smile that heals me, mmh

I don't know why it is

But I have to laugh when she reveals me

She's got a way of talkin', mmh

I don't know what it is

But it lifts me up when we are walkin'

Anywhere

She comes to me when I'm feelin' down

Inspires me without a sound

She touches me and I get turned around

She's got a way of showin', mmh

How I make her feel

And I find the strength to keep on goin'

She's got a light around her, ooh

And everywhere she goes

A million dreams of love surround her

Everywhere

She comes to me when I'm feelin' down

Inspires me without a sound

She touches me and I get turned around, ooh, oho

She's got a smile that heals me, mmh

I don't know why it is

But I have to laugh when she reveals me

She's got a way about her, mmh

I don't know what it is

But I know that I can't live without her

Anyway, hey

This is installment number 2 of the Billy Joel collection. It's amazing how Billy captured every day scenarios that anyone can relate to.

This song is dedicated to everyone that is being told what is best for them or that they are doing something wrong.

It's important to have strong convictions and stay true to yourself. While it's great to receive advice from others, ultimately it's up to you to make your own decisions in order to achieve true happiness. Failure to do so can lead to feelings of regret, which can be a burden to bear on your own. It's crucial to follow your dreams and pursue your passions in life, as this is the surest way to live a fulfilling and satisfying life.

Lyrics

Got a call from an old friend we used to be real close

Said he couldn't go on the American way

Closed the shop, sold a house, bought a ticket to the west coast

Now he gives them a stand-up routine in L.A.

I don't need you to worry for me 'cause I'm alright

I don't want you to tell me it's time to come home

I don't care what you say anymore this is my life

Go ahead with your own life leave me alone

I never said you had to offer me a second chance

(I never said you had to)

I never said I was a victim of circumstance

(I never said)

I still belong (still belong)

Don't get me wrong (don't get me wrong)

You can speak your mind but not on my time

They will tell you you can't sleep alone in a strange place

Then they'll tell you you can't sleep with somebody else

Oh, but sooner or later you sleep in your own space

Either way it's okay, you wake up with yourself

I don't need you to worry for me 'cause I'm alright

I don't want you to tell me it's time to come home

I don't care what you say anymore this is my life

Go ahead with your own life leave me alone

I never said you had to offer me a second chance

(I never said you had to)

I never said I was a victim of circumstance

(Gf circumstance)

I still belong (still belong)

Don't get me wrong (don't get me wrong)

You can speak your mind but not on my time

I don't care what you say anymore this is my life

Go ahead with your own life leave me alone

The Piano Man is the most recognizable song in Billy's repertoire. You can identify with this song, we’ve all been to a bar, we probably know a John at the bar, or the waitress practicing politics or that businessmen that is getting stoned. The greatest line being “they’re sharing a drink they call loneliness, but it's better than drinkin' alone. The song was based off his real work experiences playing the piano at a bar in LA.

It is now a highlight of Joel's live shows, where he usually allows the audience to sing the chorus. In 2015, the Library of Congress selected "Piano Man" for preservation in the National Recording Registry for its "cultural, historic, or artistic significance".

"The Entertainer" is a single by singer Billy Joel released as the only single from his 1974 album Streetlife Serenade. The song peaked at #34 on the US charts

Lyrics

I am the entertainer

And I know just where I stand

Another serenader

And another long-haired band

Today I am your champion

I may have won your hearts

But I know the game, you'll forget my name

And I won't be here in another year

If I don't stay on the charts, oh

I am the entertainer

And I've had to pay my price

The things I did not know at first

I learned by doin' twice

Ah, but still they come to haunt me

Still they want their say

So I've learned to dance with a hand in my pants

Let 'em rub my neck and I write 'em a check

And they go their merry way, oh

I am the entertainer

Been all around the world

I've played all kinds of palaces

And laid all kinds of girls

I can't remember faces

I don't remember names

Ah, but what the hell? You know it's just as well

'Cause after a while and a thousand miles

It all becomes the same

I am the entertainer

I bring to you my songs

I'd like to spend a day or two

I can't stay that long

Naw, I got to meet expenses

I got to stay in line

Gotta get those fees to the agencies

And I'd love to stay but there's bills to pay

So I just don't have the time

I am the entertainer

I come to do my show

You heard my latest record

It's been on the radio

Ah, it took me years to write it

They were the best years of my life

It was a beautiful song but it ran too long

If you're gonna have a hit you gotta make it fit

So they cut it down to 3:05

I am the entertainer

The idol of my age

I make all kinds of money

When I go on the stage

Ah, you've seen me in the papers

I've been in the magazines

But if I go cold I won't get sold

I'll get put in the back in the discount rack

Like another can of beans

I am the entertainer

And I know just where I stand

Another serenader

And another long-haired band

Today I am your champion

I may have won your hearts

But I know the game, you'll forget my name

I won't be here in another year

If I don't stay on the charts

“Captain Jack will get you high tonight

And take you to your Special Island

Just a little push,

And you’ll be smiling…”

On a peninsula, actually an ancient

Sandbar, where the Halifax River and the

Tomoka Basin come together, Tomoka

exudes special kind of spiritual magic.

You’re not sure if it’s in an estuary or a

swamp with tidal fluctuations. It has

Blue Claw Crabs, Dolphins, Manatees

and Gators.

At low tide you could walk through

this murky estuary creek to visit this

this special little island… If you dare.

Please don’t feed the Gators, though.

...We didn't start the fire

It was always burning, since the world's been turning

We didn't start the fire

No, we didn't light it, but we tried to fight it...

I have reluctantly decided to withdraw from any commenting groups, as I am finding the repetitive pasting of a fixed comment some what lacking in my enjoyment of your images. I feel far more comfortable leaving a personal message, if and when I see an enjoyable image. I hope you all have preferred the spontaneous response. Many thanks to all the group admins for all their dedicated work and time, I have been flattered by your invites.....

Long as I have you by my side

Theres a roof above and good walls all around

You're my castle, you're my cabin and my instant pleasure dome

I need you in my house cause you're my home

Billy Joel-Just The Way You Are

Don't go changing to try and please me

You never let me down before

Don't imagine you're too familiar

And I don't see you anymore

I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble

We never could have come this far

I took the good times; I'll take the bad times

I'll take you just the way you are

Don't go trying some new fashion

Don't change the color of your hair

You always have my unspoken passion

Although I might not seem to care

I don't want clever conversation

I never want to work that hard

I just want someone that I can talk to

I want you just the way you are

I need to know that you will always be

The same old someone that I knew

What will it take till you believe in me

The way that I believe in you?

I said I love you and that's forever

And this I promise from the heart

I could not love you any better

I love you just the way you are

Un poco de música para empezar bien el viernes, BillyJoel y su, Piano man

Feliz fin de semana a todos!

Para FM&S

For decades I’ve been wanting to see the Piano Man in concert. Long story short, mission accomplished! Originally he was slated to perform at Comerica two year ago, and most of you remember what had happened before the ink was dry, the outbreak! But two years later, Mr. William Martin Joel came through for Detroit! I don’t have time to embellish on the entire concert, but let’s just say he rocked the house! We was not disappointed despite my wife and I sitting in the nosebleed section (this panoramic I took was a blessing in disguise, actually)! He performed most of his hits from the ‘70s to the early ‘90s, even performing a 30-minute encore, he even performed some old Motown hits! You had to be there to see it! And as a bonus, he featured Joe Elliott from Def Leppard and they sang that 80s hit “Pour Some Sugar On Me”! And the “pop” from the crowd was literally deafening (if you’re a pro wrestling fan like I am, you know what a pop is)! For those of you who may not know, a “pop” is a reaction from a live audience when their favourite entertainer/athlete enters the venue. Best three hours I’ve ever spent! I’m gonna tell on myself just a little bit, all these years I’ve been driving past Comerica Park (home of the Detroit Tigers), this was my first time actually inside the stadium! I’ve been to a few hole-in-wall joints in the building, but never the actual stadium until that night! And I’m gonna say this, this was worth going into debt for. Again, you had to be there to see it to believe it!

Sing us a song , you're the piano man...a tiny , red, baby grand piano tree ornament. (on a snippet of sheet music). Happy Macro Monday.

This was the last sundown on the last day of the last year. What a show at the close of the year!

But Where's the orchestra?

I was setting myself up to unwind and relax.

You can have this heart to break ...

In the middle of the night

I go walking in my sleep

Through the desert of truth

To the river so deep

We all end in the ocean

We all start in the streams

We're all carried along

By the river of dreams

In the middle of the night...

Crabbing all hours into the night gives you lots of time to reflect on past times...

Funny how the cloud junkie group rejected this...Just like I rejected them...

She can kill with a smile

She can wound with her eyes

She can ruin your faith with her casual lies

And she only reveals what she wants you to see

She hides like a child

But she's always a woman to me

She can lead you to live

She can take you or leave you

She can ask for the truth

But she'll never believe you

And she'll take what you give her as long as it's free

She steals like a thief

But she's always a woman to me

Oh, she takes care of herself

She can wait if she wants

She's ahead of her time

Oh, and she never gives out

And she never gives in

She just changes her mind

She will promise you more

Than the Garden of Eden

Then she'll carelessly cut you

And laugh while you're bleedin'

But she'll bring out the best

And the worst you can be

Blame it all on yourself

Cause she's always a woman to me

She is frequently kind

And she's suddenly cruel

She can do as she pleases

She's nobody's fool

But she can't be convicted

She's earned her degree

And the most she will do

Is throw shadows at you

But she's always a woman to me

Slow down you crazy child

You're so ambitious for a juvenile

But then if you're so smart tell me,

Why are you still so afraid? (mmmmm)

Where's the fire, what's the hurry about?

You better cool it off before you burn it out

You got so much to do and only

So many hours in a day (Ay)

But you know that when the truth is told

That you can get what you want

Or you can just get old

You're gonna kick off before you even get halfway through (Oooh)

When will you realize... Vienna waits for you?

A bottle of white, a bottle of red

Perhaps a bottle of rose instead (Billy Joel)

“We all have a face that we hide away forever,

And we take them out and show ourselves when everyone has gone.

Some are satin, some are steel, some are silk and some are leather.

They're the faces of the stranger and we love to try them on.”

had a little alone time at the end of helping out at the cabin today.

spent it here.

had some time to think and really examine why i have so much anger in me as well as sadness over what's happened. and i think i finally came up with the answer.

i gave a piece of me away. a piece that only a few people have ever been given.

i'm not saying i'm some super special being who is doing you a tremendous favor by letting you really know me.

i'm just saying that i took a huge (for me) RISK by letting someone really know me.

and what i gave of myself was rejected.

and i don't know what happened to that piece after that.

all i know is that i no longer feel whole because nobody is taking care of that piece.

not me.

not the one i gave it to.

it's alone.

and it's dying.

i'm certain of that much anyway.

i can feel it.
