Every Boy Needs a Girl Best Friend and Every Girl Needs a Boy Best Friend...

Photography is a great uniter of countries, cultures, neighborhoods, families and friends. I’ve started a group named Photo-Phactory. Please share your best images with me.

...back dating some old pictures of bunnies and bears I've made that have gone off to new lands. :)

From my archives. A photo of two kids walking back to their tent after playing by the beach off East Coast Park Singapore.

The tree branch in the top of the picture was from the tree I was seeking shelter on when I took this shot. I was torn between removing or keeping it; I decided to keep it for brevity in post processing. =)

Daily Dog Challenge: a must have

family, friends and a good walk, preferably in sunshine, like today :)

The sunset on this Saturday was one of the best ones in the last several years. It was perfect except that I hurt my right foot on slippery and sharp rocks while exploring the area.

I didn't do much of Photoshop here because I'm not a Photoshop guy and not good at it. The color itself was really amazing. I only increased +3 of saturation and adjusted a little bit of exposure in the foreground.

I hope you enjoy it.

It's actually a few miles from the dam but it has a dam(n) good reputation!

This year marks the 200th birthday of this great Austrian composer. Here you can see the Bruckner bust in Vienna's Stadtpark, which was unveiled three years after Bruckner's death.

Bruckner ‘was an Austrian composer of the Romantic period as well as an organist and university teacher. Only recognised by his contemporaries late in life, he was nevertheless one of the most important and innovative composers of his time and his works had a great influence on music history well into the 20th century.

His most important and probably best-known compositions are his large-scale eleven symphonies.’

:Not my mug, but my husbands. Here's to all the amazing teachers out there, making it work for their kids. Getting lesson plans ready for them online, and putting in just as many hours at home as they do in the classroom.

7 Days with Flickr - Sunday: fauna

(Madouche through Freya's lens)

Bry and I spent 4 days down at the Best Friends Sanctuary outside Kanab, it was our first extended trip since the birth of our daughter in January. Needless to say we haven't really done much/any nightscape imaging for many months, I decided I coudln't pass up on the good weather we had one of the nights so I dragged myself out of bed around 1am and shot a pano in front of the cottage. Even with some light pollution from Kanab, just below the core area, the Sanctuary has very dark skies. This was also just the second time I've used my ZWO ASI2600mc Pro to do nightscape imaging, still working through the post processing workflow to refine all that since nobody else is really using those cameras for this purpose. I paired the camera with a Voigtlander 50mm APO along with a 3D printed adapter for the E-mount lens since ZWO doesn't make an adapter that allows those lenses to be used on their cameras. I need to dial in a little bit of tilt with the lens, but it's such a great lens it's hardly noticeable anyways.

All in all a great trip with the baby, hopefully Bry can get out and do some shooting during our next trip which will probably be Yellowstone in late June. Time flies with a baby, that's for sure.

35 exposures went into this pano, all 2 minutes at f2.2 and gain 100 on the ASI2600mc Pro with a Voigtlander 50mm APO lens, Fornax Lightrack II tracking mount.

Taken by my friend Kate, of my other friend Kate. I think the Captain is a cutout, just sayin.

As ever I love to see the Turnstones at Southwold, and on a dull, cold January day yesterday that didn't provide good conditions for photography, both the Turnstones and I just got on with it, putting our best foot forward!

Thankyou to my lovely Lara for advice and support with this one, not the easiest shot to do.

Very little post work done to this - The main thing being the crop and a 'very slight' lean to Indigo.

Taken along the 'Wild Atlantic Way' - Along the 'Slea Head Drive' - On the South West Coast of Ireland. Looking out to the Blasket Islands.

On this occasion it was a pretty overcast day as you can see, but I think this has helped the cause.

Beautiful drive if you ever get the chance :)

Thank You, Friend

Thank you, friend, for all the things

That mean so much to me--

For concern and understanding

You give abundantly.

Thanks for listening with your heart;

For cheering me when I'm blue;

For bringing out the best in me;

And just for being you.

Thanks for in-depth conversation

That stimulates my brain;

For silly times we laugh out loud;

For things I can't explain.

For looking past my flaws and faults;

For all the time you spend;

For all the kind things that you do,

Thank you; thank you, friend.

Happy 11th anniversary to PhotoJennic, the best adventure partner ever! May we have many, many more!

SLR 512 working on a Sunday was also making it's best impression of 394 from the day's of CN and even SLR's Emons past. This little GP40 was working hard to switch the big cuts of cars (basically LPG loads) so a second unit would have helped both of us out!
