Auf der Strecke Passau - Nürnberg sind die Lokomotiven der Baureihe 1016 und 1116 Dauergast. Inbesondere die Einzelwagenzüge zwischen Wien bzw. Linz und Nürnberg werden zu großen Teilen von dieser Baureihe bedient. Am 20. Juli 2021 hatte auch der Lokführer seinen Spaß als er bei Batzhausen mit seinem Zug auf die Speicherkarte wanderte.
Best evening light
ÖBB's 1116 102 was illuminated in the best evening light as it drove a mixed freight train towards Nuremberg marshalling yard. The locomotives of the 1016 and 1116 series are regular guests on the Passau - Nuremberg route. In particular, the mixed trains between Vienna or Linz and Nuremberg are largely served by this series. On July 20, 2021, the train driver also had fun when the camera was triggered with his train near Batzhausen.

The tree branch in the top of the picture was from the tree I was seeking shelter on when I took this shot. I was torn between removing or keeping it; I decided to keep it for brevity in post processing. =)
I work as an aide with middle school children. It has been a challenging year as you know. I have been zooming and not on campus. One of my students asked if I had been to the school where she left something for me in my box. She then said that she was sorry that it was only a card. I told her that something she wrote for me was the best gift : )
I shot these two trees because I liked the way one compliments the other and I felt I could see how they had grown together and each one had influenced the other one and together they were strong and best friends. A little sentimental and corny perhaps but that's how I saw it :-)

Joshua Tree with Milky Way in the background, shot at Joshua Tree National Park, California, USA.
This was the best tree I found in the park to be perfect subject against the Milky Way. I was late by few minutes and the Milky Way was way up in the sky, but nonetheless it was an interesting night.
