CSX 2111 was the regular yard engine assigned to the former Western Maryland Railway yard at West Virginia Central Jct for many years during the early and mid 1990s. The primary purpose of the yard was to serve the large WESTVACO paper mill at Luke, MD, which is seen in the background of this view at Beryl, WV.
This is one of the hottest springs there in Yellowstone that is around 192 degrees F.

Small tanager found in Andean subtropical zone from Venezuela to Bolivia. Unmistakable: entire body boldly spotted with bright blue-green, sharply contrasting with black mask and back. No other tanager has such a spangled appearance. Sexes alike. A fairly common member of mixed flocks from around 1,500–2,500 m, within forest and also at edges or in second growth.
At La Minga Eco Lodge, Colombia.

A day at the seaside yesterday at Wells-next-the-Sea, and it was a glorious day apart from maybe 20 mins of light rain later on. Beryl really enjoyed her time there.

Thanks to all who have visited, commented or faved my photos. It is very much appreciated. Constructive criticism welcomed.
Nobody messes with feral Beryl the Peril. This is the name that came to mind (borrowed from the Beano comic mag I used to read along with Chaucer and Dickens, as a child). Those feathers strewn around where she lives near Cadnam common, are a sign she's been in action.
Much of the head and underparts of the Beryl-spangled Tanager (Tangara nigroviridis) are black, heavily spotted, the spots appearing bluish or greenish. This feature gives them their brightly-colored, "spangled" appearance. Like other Tangara, they are omnivorous, feeding on both fruit and arthropods.
