We don't typically eat at hotel restaurants, but it was the Bend Fall Festival, so we decided to avoid the crowds, and were very pleased with the meal.
Bend in the road on the way towards Wisconsin along the Mississippi River. I forced a stop alongside the road because I thought the bend would make for a cool shot. Turns out it's cool, but the cooler shot would have been three turns after this stop.
Portland doesn't have the patent on big-fat beer celebrations. Bend can get down too, with more than 70 purveyors sharing their drinkable bounty over the course of four days, with lively DJs and food to help chase it down. The annual Bend Brewfest was held at the Les Schwab Amphitheater Aug. 13-16. It was four days of body paintings, multiple wedding parties, dance parties and piles and piles of gourmet fries.
