A moment before sunrise, Mt. Moran is reflected in the still water at Oxbow Bend in the Teton Range of Wyoming.
A play on words with the title. Shot towards the early morning sun, a bend in the road with some nice light filtering through.
More from around Wistow, near Mt Barker, South Australia
This is kind of a cliché photo of the Horseshoe Bend near Page AZ, but it was cool to see. If you view large, you can see boats and tents on the beach at the bend. You probably won't see this without a crowd around - there are plenty of selfie taking tourists backed up to the edge of the cliff trying to get that one shot of themselves...
this is on the banks of Wastwater and i can tell you these bikers didn't bomb along it like you would think...they sauntered actually.
We saw less than a dozen people this day up there.
Bet its been a tad different this week!!
I was going through some older photos, and found this one i took in New Zealand last year.

Oxbow Bend in Grand Teton National Park is located between Jackson Lake and Moran Junctions. Sunrise is probably the best time of day to capture colors, but I was more fascinated by the muted colors of twilight, the time of day between sunset and dusk.
Seen in Amsterdam. Perhaps this is a visual metaphor for the city's relaxed attitude toward so-called victimless crime? I found it rather.... artful.

A pretty extreme example of note bending; my Classical Guitar, Suzy, warped to the max.
More abstract guitars in my album, "Wood and Steel."
The view from Horseshoe Bend is absolutely a beautiful sight to see. You don't realize how grand it is until you see it in person. It is probably one of the most photographed sections of the Colorado river but for good reason.
My wife and I visited for sunset after a great day in some of the slot canyons in the Page area. It wasn't the best sunset I have seen but I was happy to have clouds close to the horizon and it is hard to complain about a view like this. I did get some shots with more color in the sky but I liked this one with the sun starting to drop behind the horizon. The real light show was happening to the right of this scene with some amazing clouds and light. But for now we will start with this shot.

Horseshoe bend Arizona was on my list of places to see on my southwest road trip. Oddly enough there is no fence or barrier around the bend. Bugs and photographers crowd the edges at sunset and sunrise.

Mount Moran decided to hide behind clouds whenever we paid him a visit last October.
Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.
On my first morning at Grand Teton National Park I woke well before dawn and drove to Oxbow Bend to experience the sunrise. I loved just standing still and listening to the sounds of geese swimming on the misty water. Though the light was still too dim to see much, I took a long exposure of Mount Moran. The quality of the indirect light in this image is so much different than a half hour later when the rays of the rising sun illuminated the mountain.
We found these fishermen down a dirt road in the middle of Oxbow Bend, Grand Teton National Park.
Happy Tuesday! Thanks for stopping by and for all of your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all.
